That was in 2022. He later come on in 2023 to say he was removing it first day in office.

Even if we go by his 2023 comment, 50% removal is not removing subsidy. You are still subsidizing 50%. Why would he want to continue paying the subsidy criminals 50%?

Nonsense. That was in 2022 and he changed his stance later.

Even from his weak proposal, he did not remove subsidy 100% and we will still have the same issue.

There is no easy way to remove subsidy, don’t let anyone deceive you. If there is an easy way, previous president would have done it in phase like you said.

If he like he should wait till 10 month before removing it, the very day he announce the removal whether by phase or not, the price goes up and the people react to the shock.

I just hope Tinubu did not eventually back out from the pressure. He must pursue this to the end and make sure ordinary Nigerians are given some form of succor in the immediate period.

The remaining 50% will be removed after people might have adjusted. The impact won't be much

People will always react to price change. If he remove 50% then he is going to expect two reaction to the price change.

For example NNPC is selling there for 520 from the initial 200 price range. Let’s say the increase on it is 320 for argument sake.

—Tinubu method remove everything at once and price at #520, everyone respond to the shock and he takes the hit from the people at once. Then the benefit start showing later.

—Peter Obi method of 50% will increase the petrol price to like #360 naira, then the people react to the shock just like they do now but with less intensity. Then the fraudulent subsidy will still continue at 50%.

Then he wakes up in the future to remove it again to rise to #520, then people protest again and etc.

Why remove twice when you can remove once and face the barrage at once?

Why are Tinubu foot soldiers using Obi to cover up their so call Jagaban mess. Obi had organized strategy and perspective that is entirely different from the APC strategy of removing fuel subsidy. You refused to vote Obi so why are you now using him as a reference to APC mess. Obi cannot remove subsidy in this Tinubu useless manner and irrelevant strategy. APC foot soldiers this is just the beginning be ready for more. Thank God all of us are buying it same price.

Gradual increase will be less painful and easier to adjust to. Things that are obvious needs no unnecessary debate

No increase is easy for Nigerians.

While you may be right that it will be less painful, they will eventually get angry after the full removal. Then cite a case of it being 200 in 2023 and 580 in 2026.

After then, you would have wasted time, get lesser revenue as a government, and also continue to pay for the 50% subsidy scam. In those period, investors won’t trust you and the market will still not be fully deregulated in the real sense.

At least you agree that a gradual process
is less painful and easier to adapt to. Tinubu must understand that Nigeria is not Lagos. Lagos is very urban, with all the infrastructure and productive and resilient people. Nigeria in general has vast rural areas with poor people who expect government welfarism. When they said Tinubu will replicate Lagos all over the country I knew he we are in trouble. Next thing now he will start crazy taxation
