Peace Mass Transit To Absorb Fuel Price Increase Costs by peaceworldtech: 9:01pm On Jun 04, 2023
Peace Mass Transit Limited, a leading road transport company in Nigeria, has announced that it will not increase fares despite the recent increase in the price of fuel, despite the recent over 200% increase in the price of fuel nationwide.

The company's decision to absorb the cost of the fuel price increase is a significant gesture of goodwill to its customers. It is a sign that the company is committed to providing affordable transportation services to Nigerians, even in the face of rising fuel prices.

The General Manager of the company, Ifeanyi Enete, directed depot staff and cooperative members in an internal correspondence, to stick to the company's old price regime, despite the new petroleum product prices announced by the NNPC last week.

"Our chairman, in his benevolence, has directed us not to increase transport fares, despite the skyrocketed increase in the pump price, as a result of fuel subsidy removal", GM Enete, told staff and members of the cooperatives.
"He did this as a sacrifice to mitigate the suffering of Nigerians", he added.

The company's chairman, Dr. Sam Onyishi, further explained that the decision was taken to cushion the effect of the fuel price increase on the company's customers.

"We understand that the recent increase in the price of fuel has put a lot of pressure on people's budgets," Onyishi said. "We don't want to add to their burden, so we have decided to absorb the cost of the increase." He said that the company would bear the additional cost of fuel by reducing its profit margin.

"This time calls for sacrifice; we should all think about what we can do for Nigeria, and not what Nigeria can do for us... "...It will definitely be tough but we shall endure for the sake of humanity. After all, we were paying our workers during covid-19 without any income. The same God will do it for us again."

Peace Mass Transit is one of the largest road transport companies in Nigeria. It operates a fleet of over 3,000 buses and provides transportation services to customers in all parts of the country.
