I cannot entirely say that Android is better than iPhone, but that doesn't mean I accept that iPhone is better. What usually drives me nuts is when people with iPhones view Android as a cheap option for the less privileged. C'mon, we all know that the reason why Android is perceived as an inferior phone in our society is not because it is cheap or because it lags and crashes sometimes, but rather because some people use anything, be it a tool, property, or knowledge, to display a superiority complex. The iPhone, with its price and scarcity, becomes a perfect tool for such displays.

(Notice how the iPhone vs Android comparison has dropped, since even a baby learning to wipe its butt now owns an iPhone. But since there are no overpriced OS options in the market yet, the superiority complex must continue. So, the debate has now shifted to which iPhone is better.)

Another factor contributing to this mentality is herd mentality, which is evident worldwide but particularly prevalent in our society. Nigerian adults often lack independence in their thoughts and actions. Why else would Nigerians be convinced that an iPhone, which is already costly enough for the an average Nigerian pocket, is better solely because of its photography, despite Android being cheaper to maintain, manage, and offering greater ease and customizability?

Among other reasons why high-end Android is better than high-end iPhones, the ordinary Android's back navigation button (or swipe left to go back) alone is a headache for the iPhone's UX/UI department. They just can't come up with a better, fancier, and easier way to navigate without forcing their users to adopt an odd and unnatural habit (swiping right to go back feels like steering my car to the right to go to the left).
