The recent subsidy removal is a fraud. Dangote refinery has just been commissioned and according to report should start refining this June. So, why not absorb the subsidy cost for just one month and wait for Dangote refinery to start refining so we can know the cost of the final product.

It is fraud because the cost of refining the crude in Nigeria certainly can't be the same as importing refined product from abroad.

So, why in a hurry to remove subsidy when a refinery which is alleged to be the biggest in the world is about to start producing?

This is making the poor people in Nigeria to pay more and make the rich richer.

Nigerians should demand an explanation for this. Even if the refinery will not produce at full capacity at the beginning, it is still a fraud.

It's like using the price of food in restaurants abroad to fix price for food in Nigeria. It certainly can't be the same.

None governmental bodies and pressure groups should say no to this evil. They did it to get outrageous profit from Dangote refinery as most of them have shares in it.

So, I am demanding that the government revert to the old price, absorb the subsidy cost just for one month and let's know the real price based on local production.

By the way, why can't they fix our refineries?

Something is not adding up.

This is not democracy. The government can't continue to take decisions that will make life more bitter for its people instead of making it better.

In addition, how can Tinubu make such an announcement without making plans to cushion the effect of the removal?

There are things he can do to alleviate the hardship caused by the removal.

At least, he should have provided mass transit buses that will operate at low cost before the removal.

He started his rule on a wrong footing. When will they ever take decisions that will better the lives of millions of suffering Nigerians. Or he is not aware that there are so many hungry people in Nigeria. There are no jobs. Over 80% of graduates are unemployed and even those who have jobs are not finding easy to cope with the cost of living.

May God deliver us from this government who just came in to make things harder.

What is your take?

The funny thing is that the subsidy payment for this month was allocated and covered in the 2023 budget. The subsidy payment allocation was for the first 6 months of the year, what happened to the money for the 6th month which is June?

Don't mind them? Nigerians are just easily gullible. I felt so disappointed for those praising the steps he took. They called it boldness. But, I call it deceit and wickedness.

Oh, they claim Peter Obi would have done the same thing. And so what? It doesn't change the truth.

We already have a solution to the subsidy issue with the completion of Dangote refinery. So, why not wait for it to start producing and we stop importing before you know the decision to take?

You can see. I've found another seer. The recent subsidy removal is purely semantics and indiscretionary thinking and action. Nigerians are reacting from previous hardships and not acting logically hence falling into this new trap. Well done, seer
