The Department of Security Services (DSS) has reportedly arrested the Clerk to the National Assembly, Sani Tambawal, and other parliamentary staff over an alleged plot to impose leadership on both chambers

Tambawal alongside his colleagues were said to have been picked up by the secret police on Monday night in an attempt to coerce them into manipulating the standing rules of the NASS to favour some candidates.

The 10th National Assembly will officially be inaugurated on Tuesday, June 13 and the high point of the event will see the emergence of a new set of leaders.
