I didn't tell the person it won't matter because I'm still weighing my options here.

Besides, i didn't lie about my age, it's just the month and day i lied about.
But, can you give up on your skillful, competent, and loyal staff that you know to get his type isn't easy? Can you?? Just because of something as insignificant as that?

If you can, then you are on the long thing.

Find a way of casually telling him the truth before yours or his next birthday.

Let him know you didn't think it was serious then but now that you're both serious you don't want any lie between the two of you.
Ask him also if there's any thing he'll also like to come clean about.

A relationship may not start perfectly but you can rebuild the foundation.
Most importantly if you're a believer, you should know there's no such thing like a little or white lie. Try as much as possible to live a truthful life. It even makes it easy for you to relate with God and people.

Galatians 5:9
A little leaven [a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers] leavens the whole batch [it perverts the concept of faith and misleads the church].
