ABUNDANT LIFE VISION
Eternal Life. John 6:63
The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life. NLT.

The purpose of the coming of Jesus is to give us eternal life. The reality is that, the world does not end here, there is a new heaven and a new earth. Revelation 21:1-4: Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. [2]And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. [3]I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. [4]He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” NLT. The people that will live in the new earth are those who give their lives to Jesus here on earth.

However, to give one’s life to Jesus requires the work of the Holy Spirit. No one can give his or her life to Jesus without being helped by God to do so. John 6:44: For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up. NLT. God draws us to his word which brings about salvation. Romans 10:17: So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. NLT. Once we hear the word of God and we believe it in our hearts and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, we receive the gift of salvation and eternal life.

What happens after we give our lives to Jesus is that we are put into the family of God, we totally belong to God and as a result, we have power over sin. 1 John 5:18: We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. NLT.

Therefore, no one can make heaven without having eternal life that can only be found in Jesus. On this note, I you are yet to receive the life, I urge you to do so by saying this prayer; Dear Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and you resurrected on the third day by the power of God, please forgive my sins and write my name in the book of life and I will serve you forever.
