This may seem contrary to what many believe, but let me explain with biblical examples. The Bible has revealed to us that God can get angry (Num. 32:10), can laugh (Psalms 2:4), and can be sorry (Gen. 6:6), among other feelings highlighted in the Bible. Therefore, I believe God can be impressed. Before I delve into real-life characters in the scripture who impressed God, it's worthwhile to note that impressing God isn't something we do religiously; it's a natural flow from an intimate relationship with God.

Our first example will be David. He thought of doing something special for God, not with the intention to impress Him, but as an act of his passion and love for God. David decided to build a temple. When God became aware of David's intention, He instructed the prophet to go and meet David, saying, 'Wherever I have moved with all the children of Israel, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people, "Why have you not built me a house of cedar?"' (2Sam. 7:7).

Due to this great affection towards God, God was impressed, and He made the greatest covenant He could ever make with a man. God said, 'In the past, I sent judges to lead my people, but evil people gave them many troubles. That will not happen now. I am giving you peace from all of your enemies. I promise that I will make your family a family of kings. When your life is finished, you will die and be buried with your ancestors. But then I will make one of your own children become the king. He will build a house for my name, and I will make his kingdom strong forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he sins, I will use other people to punish him. They will be my whips. But I will never stop loving him. I will continue to be loyal to him. I took away my love and kindness from Saul. I pushed Saul away when I turned to you. Your family of kings will continue—you can depend on that! For you, your kingdom will continue forever! Your throne will stand forever!' (2 Samuel 7:10-16)

What a great promise that transcends generations! This happened because David loved God so much that his love impressed God. Once again, you can't impress God by wanting to impress Him religiously; it flows from a natural and intimate relationship and genuine love for God. There are some things that only love will show you and compel you to do. One of which is how to impress your lover (Either God or Man). We will continue tomorrow with another important example.

David, as a boy became Holy, and was then approved Righteous by God. It is for this reason that when God chose David, God said, David was a man after His own heart. So, for you to compare yourself to David or dream of achieving any of that which he was able to achieve or even enjoy in terms of his relationship with God, you must first become holy and then be approved righteous by God Himself. God is never impressed by that which the unrighteous man does or achieves, and he is never directly involved in the lives of the unrighteous. undecided
