Now I know the emefiele guy is foolish. A banker, keeping bags of currency in your house? Nigeria is filled with dumb people, or should I attribute this to impunity that reigns supreme in the country for anyone who has access to power and wealth?

No fewer than 18 Ghana-must-go bags containing money and documents have been carted away by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) from the residence of the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, Nigerian Tribune has been reliably informed.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the money and the documents were taken from the Lagos residence of Emefiele on Friday afternoon after about a day-long search of the property.
Emefiele, who was arrested June 10 by the DSS, has spent eight days in the custody of the agency.
It was scooped that Emefiele may spend longer than earlier reported in DSS custody as investigation into his activities while in charge of the apex bank is far from being concluded.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the DSS, on Thursday, secured a court order to detain the ex-CBN chief for three weeks, with another source hinting that he might be held for a longer time.

Emefiele was said to have been moved from the DSS custody in Abuja on Thursday and flown to Lagos where his house was searched by DSS operatives.
Upon conclusion of the search, about 18 Ghana-must-go bags containing currency and documents were said to have been taken away the following day [Friday].

Emefiele was flown back to Abuja on Friday afternoon with the bags and investigators have since resumed quizzing, especially about the findings.
The secret Police, it was gathered, have also launched a manhunt for Emefiele’s personal assistant (names withheld) in connection with the revelations from the ongoing investigation.

“DSS took Emefiele to his house in Lagos on Thursday and returned him to Abuja on Friday afternoon. His house was searched. They took away about 18 big Ghana-must-go bags containing money and documents from the house.

“His personal assistant is on the run. DSS is on a manhunt for him. He is the key to unlock Emefiele’s assets and wealth stashed away within and outside the country,” a source told Nigerian Tribune.

President Bola Tinubu, on June 9, suspended Emefiele as CBN governor and ordered his probe, following which he was arrested by the DSS for investigation. Mehn, it was published by tribune, I doubt if it is fake. You know, these people don't care any bit for the average Nigerian. Have you heard of the massive corruption revealed by one ex-member of HOR about emefiele and his cronies on stamp duty? Oh my God. The reason the narration on your alert was changed from 'stamp duty' to electronic wetin wetin? Shit! is it the dangote refinery scam? Mehn, if nigerians leave these people in few years Nigeria will be worse than places like papua new guinea. These Nigerian political 'big men' are no better than devil himself.

Where are the 74 houses belonging to former chief justice Walter onnoghen?

I don't understand why the government loves damaging someone in the media with falsehoods everytime they have a personal beef with the person.

Nobody actually cares about emefiele but telling us that a man of emefiele status who is anticipating his possible arrest will keep 18 bags of cash in his private residence is an insult to our sensibilities. Nigerians are not fools!

Hei! God Abeg.

Where are the bullion van crew?

Those could be part of the redesigned new currency we were scampering for.
Couldn't forget how we paid #100,000 to collect old Naira notes of #70,000.

There's God o.

You don see am na, hard to believe. But come to think of it, accounts to stash the money fit don full, so this one na over excess. Or, as they do, this is quick bribe money almost every Nigerian politician stashes in his house. I tire for Nigeria.
