Hello, I recently purchased my iPhone X outright and requested it is unlocked. Per the agent I spoke with, the unlock was completed a few days ago and he instructed me to use iTunes to back up my phone, wipe it, and then restore from the backup (also from iTunes). I don't have a computer at the moment, so I was wondering if those steps were necessary to complete the unlock. I was under the impression that Sprint requests Apple to unlock the iPhone and an OTA update is sent to the iPhone to update the carrier policy to "unlocked". |
