There was this discussion in my Sunday school class last Sunday on the conversion of Saul and his change of name to Paul. While some people believed that Saul's name changed to Paul after his conversion on the way to Damascus, just like the names of Abram changed to Abraham and Jacob to Israel in the old testament, some said Saul and Paul have the same meaning and that while Saul is the Hebrew version, Paul is the Greek version. Actually there was no where it is written in the Bible that Saul's name changed to Paul, but in Act 13:9, he was first called Paul (Saul who is also called Saul). This looks like both names have same meaning really. Can we have better understanding of this name change of Saul to Paul especially from theologians and bible scholars in the house?

yep! The reason for his name change is personal and has nothing to benefit anyone.
