As an experienced Affiliate marketer with earning track records that I can prove, I have come to know the do's and don'ts when it comes to Affiliate Marketing in general........

Don'ts

1) don't just register under any affiliate network just because you saw someone else who is already a member of the network even though he or she is from your country.... I have falled a victim of such issue ... I joined digistore24 using a US IP, US virtual number and a random US address and earned commissions there but to claim my earnings became an issue ... Coz I can't provide valid documents to prove that I am a US citizen. The account was disabled and my earnings are still there, I was told to provide a document showing the exact details I have on my digistore24 account which I can't provide because I am not in US, and I was told to provide the SSN which a Nigerian living in Nigeria can't get except he or she is based in US...

2) Don't use fake details, like emails , fake names or fake documents. In case you have issues with your account. To verify you will be hard because your identity documents will not match your details you have used previously on your account

3) Don't always do direct linking to the merchant page

4) Don't use bot or shady traffic, your affiliate account might get banned

5) Don't promote different set of offers or products on just 1 page ....1 page for one product promotion


Do's


1) check the review of any Affiliate network if they are credible enough before joining, Check to know if they actually pay their affiliates or not

2) check to know what they allow (policy, terms and conditions)

3) Be friendly with your affiliate manager, by doing that he or she will give you tips on best offers to promote and how to promote them in terms of traffic , and so on

4) interact with other affiliate marketers of the same network that you know are earning bigger than you, as with their experience so far they can as well give you tips on how they are crushing it monthly .....

5) Build targeted email list, so you can always set email campaigns ...(highly recommended)

6) have a landing page, sales funnel etc

7) promote offers with high rates of conversion


I hope with this little tips, any beginner out there won't make some mistakes when it comes to Affiliate Marketing, what to avoid when choosing an affiliate network etc.
