Nigeria VS Abroad University Curriculum: What Is The Difference? by DAVIDMOE(m): 5:42pm On Jun 22, 2023
I hear people often complain that Nigeria universities use outdated curriculum, which is not good for students. Some people go as far making it seem like schooling in Nigeria is a total waste of time.
Although I have not been to any university in Nigeria or abroad, but I have also heard people from United States complain that their educational curriculum can not give students the needed skills in this present world.

Even Mark Zuckerberg once said something about University in the USA, and I quote "You cannot be a programmer by writing code on paper."
I believe he was referring to schools in his country (USA) and not Africa. So, it's right to say they also learn with the same method schools in Nigeria use.
(though I could be wrong since I have not been to those places before)

Now, my question is for someone who has been to Nigerian school and abroad school, do you think Nigeria Universities use outdated curriculum?
Or does Nigerian students just don't develop themselves in the right way?

Nigerian universities like grounding you into theory but practical is very poor. I don't blame them. The polytechnics who are supposed to be practical oriented are still working with old technology. Lecturers should be exposed to practicals more. Finally, theories should be collapsed into one or two courses while the rest should be practical oriented.
