You as the president are you going to man the border yourself? You can only uproot the source, the people you employ to stop it will work with who they are suppose to stop.
when a government do 2nd Niger Niger Bridge, who did we hail, the workers or the president....we didnt even hail the minister that supervised the activities..na just achievement of president we call am....... Leadership is not tea party, the buck stopüs at ur desk because u will take both the blames and the praise and that is why u as the leader have the right to fire anyone that is not performing to your expectation.......let's stop making these kind of excuses......
and based o the boldened..u dont throw away the baby with the bath water.....the scheme is to make lives of the common people easier but because u as the custodian of that scheme cannot effectively manage and monitor it, then it is no longer important to make the lives of the common man easier...is that what you are saying??

You have a better understanding of the situation.

Two of the important issues you mentioned were taught in my primary and secondary school history classes

Our teacher never fail in reminding us that one of the advantages of the Europeans coming to colonise us was bringing an end to tribal warfare; we know better today that the tribal fights was only on suspension

The other one is what led to the fall of empires. If we look at problems bedeviling Nigeria today, it is not different from what led to the end of empires. Just like emperor's of old, Nigeria successive leadership have failed to tackle the issue of corruption by govt.officials, dwindling revenue, marginalisation of vassal states, insurrection etc.

Empires decline slowly. This one will fall one day if the managers fail to act!

Well said. What they call “tribal warfare” is what Russia and Ukraine are doing right now which is natural because each country is working on the basis of Unity Of Purpose like our regions were before Europeans.

Imagine if someone just stepped in now and amalgamated Ukraine and Russia lol you can say goodbye to world power Russia first of and all the ills you mentioned, corruption, insurrection will be the order of the day .

But ultimately, United States Of Africa must become a thing for defence against the West. Even if Africa divides into 132 different countries based on language, the goal is to know that all must be committed to AFRICA, have an African army and we must return to speaking our native languages and embracing our culture even more. It is when African people speak French and practice French culture that they can betray Africa. The absence of a united front in Africa is how black Africans lost Egypt to the Arabs and were chased to Sudan. Sorry for derailing a little.

Before nko?
I have said it time and time again, there is money in this country. Forget all those saying we produce nothing, we export nothing, we manufacture nothing, our income is 30b usd for population of 200m and all that crap. All bullshit. Do you know the money from crude sales is at least thrice that 30b? Only that the excess is stolen crude.
Even the naira should not be more than 200 to 1 dollar. The reason there is pressure on forex is the trillions stolen daily! Once the money is stolen, the first thing is to change it to dollar! Imagine the revelation that 500b was released monthly to that lady minister for poverty alleviation! What do you think will happen when eg 80% is chopped? The billions will be used to mop up all the dollar in circulation every month! Imagine all the billions in cash allegedly warehoused by politicians during the last elections, money they could not spend due to the new naira debacle. What do you think will happen now? All will have to be changed to dollar, for ease of keeping and hiding. The rest will be moved abroad!
Imagine that recharge card seller nephew to an ex president having 1.6trillion in an account! Rumors has it Emefiele once had to frightenly tell the boy that this his own money accumulation was too much, yawa will gas ohh!!
A German years back once said if the way money is moved from Nigeria happens in Germany, their economy will collapse instantly!
As ibb once said, Nigeria economy has defiled all economic indices. Ie despite all the abuse, one wonders how the economy has not collapsed.

Is that also the fault of government?
yes. Because the 560N is not feasible. So filiation got their product from deposit for high price with way bill. A tanker that was sold for 6-7m is now selling for 20+21M plus logistics.

Tinubu was part of the beneficiaries through OANDO. So sometimes na thief dem they use catch thief.

Why should he continue to pay the others when he can bring it all to the center and steal as much as he wants?

Nigeria is a special case study, I have been studying Nigeria very very to know what will work and what won't. Around 2012 I was among those advocating for the remover because I know the problem won't go away, those who keeps arguing have to face the face today. Corruption runs in the vains of the average Nigerian if you try to be the good guy among the bad eggs, they will join heads together to eliminate you. We are going to suffer the pain only for a while.

Very good that you remember, now it’s your turn to protest now.

Nah. Even as a very young adult then, I understood the importance of prioritizing common good over personal interests. I was in my home state then and I campaigned vigorously for people to understand subsidy for the scam it is. Petrol subsidy, like Education subsidy and the rest that are 'consumption centered' have to go. The only palliative to be given to cushion the effects are those that improve productivity and income generation e.g rail, alternative vocational tertiary institutions, e.t.c. Nigeria is bleeding financially and there must be measures to cut cost. However, any of them that still doesn't tackle the cost of governance as one of the foremost steps is a scam approach at best.

What I would not accept though is these selfish leaders who sat firmly on it giving sanctimonious speeches when protested against common sense back then because they stole senselessly and rode on it to power. I'm not stupid to fall for those nonsense, no apologies to those who were and still are.

The Nigerian government is poor at everything except looting funds. No wonder Atiku has been a bonafide thief knew all these so he was always clamoring for privatization
