time in school is never wasted, there are people who wants to be on nairaland as you, but can't because the knowledge of how is not there. that is just the least. have you ever imagine how it would be coming across many written signs and all you could do is just walk by without knowing what is on a single one? more like the blind mehn. education is never wasted, forget the present situation, later you will appreciate it.
You got it wrong here!!!! You don't need to go to university to do all what you just wrote above.once you can read and write then you are educated.

University only gives you further specialization on a particular field, but not even as deep as practically learn a skill.

Once you can read and write( highest secondary education) then you are educated. Gbam

My regret: being too anxious and not assertive enough, I regret not coming out sooner. Wasted years worrying about it, worrying about pretty much everything. All the time, being too afraid to live.

I used to think my family can't survive without me, so I wasted enough time trying to be almost everything possible for them, but I was totally wrong.

What's yours

This what you get from people who only see education in monetary terms. It's as if the sole aim of education is to grad & get a job. All the enlightenment, broader knowledge of the world, both near &
far is immaterial.

Same thing here. Mine is even worse. I'll be 40 this year, but still unmarried. The challenge now is getting a wife.

All the girls I've been meeting have significantly flawed characters. Such is life.

And you are perfect? smiley

Perfection is illusory. EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE have flaws. I don't know what you mean by “significantly flawed” but it's illusive to think there's a perfect woman out there for you. Funny how people who critique other people's flaws are usually the most flawed people. wink

As a prequel? Whao! Where does one begin!

From reading the Bible I suppose. Proper reading, I mean, starting at Genesis and page by page to the end if Revelations, because it is readily available and easy to learn to read. Then the Qur'an. To see what else is out there. They could be read the other way round depending on availability, but both are essential to cure oneself of belief and for learning to think and reason and research for oneself.

Then Plato, just so one understands what the heck Aristotle is talking about because he'd be next.

From there, you let yourself be led I suppose, through you investigating what you may have learnt so far.

You will need enthusiasm I do confess. For while I wish I'd read Heidegger when I was much younger, I wouldn't have comprehended what the heck he was saying or talking about. Golly, I struggle even now!

Well, I just might find myself hesitant about that opportunity if I was in that situation as I'm always true to myself. I wouldn't like to force myself to do something I think it's beyond my ability/capacity just to impress someone.

The feeling after that experience must have been tough for you as you'd be thinking that your friend sees you as a slacker.
SmartyPants:
Well, I don't necessarily do regrets as such but if there was one particular moment it would be this job I didn't take. I was to be the head of operations and deputy to the manager in my late 20s.

Technically I wasn't qualified for it but someone who really believed in me connected me to the owner and negotiated a higher salary than what was advertised.

I could have eventually become the Manager of that company because the guy resigned and the head of operations was promoted into the role - this would have opened doors for me way ahead of my career progression.

Now here's the funny part - when I decided to apply again, this time without going through my connection who was still angry with me, they didn't even call me for an interview. cheesy

You said you don't know what I mean by "significantly flawed', yet you still went ahead with your comments. I believe that's the question you should have asked before anything else.

Meanwhile, there is no place where I mentioned that I don't have flaws or that I'm 'perfect'.

Lol..
I had 0.002+ in my luno bitcoin wallet and also 0.2+ Ethereum
But panic made me sold everything before the bull run (because of the useless govt policy)

Oh, yes i at that time had a binance wallet and i had someone that was ready to teach me how to navigate it and also trade but i wasn't just interested....

Well, it was a case of not going into what you don't know or keen on knowing for me.

You're right. I think I was a little unsure of myself which I now know to have been a mistake.

The aftermath was worse than you might imagine because the guy wasn't exactly a friend. He was a much older mentor to a friend, and somehow we met and he got me to do a small project for him and things just happened after that.

So I had a disappointed friend and lost a potential mentor who was heavily connected.

That I didn’t travel abroad when I had the financial wherewithal and ability to. Everyday, I live in depression because it’s been hard to recoup all I had lost. I was being charitable and carrying family/friends problems. Now nko, where them dey? The most painful part is that they don’t even remember the times when there was surplus.

It’s been so fuckîng hard to recoup. Will I even be able to? I’m not even talking 1M here. Millions. Omo, let me continue living with hope hoping that someday, sometime, luck will smile on me again. Even 9-5 work no fit give me that kind money in 3 years. I fuckîng hate this life.

As long as you mentioned “flaws”, forget it. I don't need to ask you anything because it was glaring in your comment. Keep noting every flaws from every lady you meet hoping to find “MS. Perfect”. I hope you don't get to 60s and still keep nitpicking on their “significant flaws”.

You sound like a very intolerant person by the way. Easy there. smiley

You couldn't have said it better. The most flawed people unconsciously search for perfection to compensate for their own unacknowledged flaws

I regret the day I helped someone that I thought was my boyfriend back then in school, he asked me to give him my school fees for him to pay his, I did, he was already graduating from the school, and he told me that immediately he goes back home he'll send the money back, only for this idiot to block me on all platforms. I cried, I was pained, I have no clue about his family members. And I didn't tell my parents, I started frying yam, plantain and fish to gather 2 years school fees. grin cry

Because the employ graduate who have the knowledge on how to make the right investment. When you talk about skills what type of skills are you talking about fashion designers or shoe makers. Just say entrepreneur and every body can be one
