I really want to know the real crime of Igbos in Nigeria?

I have traveled to almost all part of Nigeria and also have my share of travelling to some other parts of the world where I have interacted with different people from different races....and I have seen a lot...

The hatred for the Igbos did not start today or after the elections from 2015...

The hatred started as far back after independence, and the anger and hatred intensify during the civil war..and afterwards.

It means Igbos are have suffered starting from that time even when Nigeria was a few years old in nationhood.

This has continued even till today and I have never seen where Igbos attack people in their region.

The animosity in SW now was because they claimed Igbos said Lagos was a no mans land...

Should this be the reason for the height of hatred..and now asking them to leave using covert way... by destroying their properties, etc, etc..?

Now look at this quote from UNICEF staff during the war...and you will see that the hatred has nothing to do with what is going on now...it has been their even before the civil war...

“Myself and the some UNICEF representatives went on to convey something of what lay behind this intransigence: Among the large majority hailing from that tribe who are the most vocal in inciting the complete extermination of the Igbo. I often heard remarks that all Nigeria’s ills will be cured once the Igbo have been exterminated from the human map.” (Dr. Conor Cruise O’Brien, 21 December 1967, New York Review).

So those shouting Igbos should respect their hosts...as the reason for hating them...should try and see that these has nothing to with respecting hosts...

There must be a reason for this..and that's what I am trying to find out.

Yes..they are really loved more than the anythings else...

“Bestialities and indignities of all kinds were visited on the Biafrans in 1966. In Ikeja Barracks (Western Nigeria), Biafrans were forcibly fed on a mixture of human urine and feces. In Northern Nigeria, numerous housewives and nursing mothers were violated before their husbands and children. Young girls were abducted from their homes, working places and schools and forced into intercourse with sick, demented and leprous men.” (Mr. Eric Spiff, German War Correspondent, an eyewitness, 1967)

Pride
Betrayal esp when involved cash.
Character.
Imagine saying Lagos is a no man's land. Is Lagos located in south east, they are the one bringing hate upon theirselves, after the disaster they cause back then, they still want more innocent souls to die.
Even my own state people don't like igbos, they just let them be because we are one nigeria, though their are some good ones.

I don't expect to see any intelligent answers for this..

I am a bit curious though...and yet not too surprised...

Hating has to do with their entrepreneur spirit.

Can you imagine after the terrible things that happen leading to the war, during the war, and after the war...the same Igbos are almost toeing one on one with all those others after losing everything during the war?

They have even gone a step further by developing everywhere they lived unlike the other two major tribes who only focused on their region.

I am not sure anyone hates the Ibos; please stop all these conspiracy theories. I have been to the East a couple of times in the past, and the way Ibos attack their kinsmen is worse than the way non-Ibos do.

The Europeans in pre-Nigeria era gave the igbos high ranking positions ,encouraged mass movement of the igbos to the North , this in turn breeds hatred and after the war the igbos in the North were exterminated , and immediately after the massacre/coup and the official declaration of Biafra by Ojukwu led to a full blown war agisnrs the igbos of the East , same tactic used by the British is Somali and somali land , south and north Sudan, the genocide of the tutsis by the hutus also because they were given position of power by the Europeans, the lingering effects ripples still in Nigeria hence the reason the Average Nigerian has no reason for his hate against the igbo

And I should add the Aro Republic (An Igbo Nation) in all ramifications fought the British, led massive manhunt and ambush , The Aro Confederacy made for the British to include them in the high ranking positions of the country which in turn backfired into a full blown civil war against them .

As I continue to reseach I saw this...

Why do Nigerians not like Igbos?
Anti-Igbo sentiment - Wikipedia
During the beginning years of Nigeria's colonial independence, the Igbo people increasingly came to be perceived as a disproportionately-favoured ethnic group with affluence and multi-regionalistic opportunity due to the Igbo being employed within colonial Nigeria by the colonial authorities and in the public sector in ...

..So the question is...for 50years after the war..Igbos have not led this country..in short they have been perpetually marginalised..

So why do others especially from SW...still hate them, than even when they were in charge for just 2 or 3years after independence?

Think of it from this angle. Despite Fulani herdsmen killing Nigerians in all 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria so that their cattle may freely graze, Nigerians elected and re-elected a Fulani man called Buhari as President. Infact, Nigeria has elected 3 Fulani men as President, Shagari, Yar'adua and Buhari. No hate for Fulani

Did Igbos do anything close to that? No

So you find out that this is all a plot to try and keep the Igbo man down by the children of hate
