Although the standard of Christianity has declined significantly from what it used to be at the time, I believe that it will be much harder even for the daughters of Philip to be virgins if they were around this day.

You religious folks and your many obsessions with sex and all issues concerning it never cease to amaze me.

The daughters of Phillip were likely listed as virgins, not because they had never had sex— as if the author of the story in fact verified that to begin with — but because they were all still single. Now, the reason why the girls were able to prophecy had nothing to do with holiness or righteousness as I suspect many have come to assume, but rather with the fact that they were of the blood of Jacob.

In Joel 2, God promised that in the last days of His final Judgment against Israel(and Judah), He would directly cause all of Israel to become His prophets. If you recall, in Numbers 12 vs 5 - 8, God had promised to give His people prophets whom He would communicate with via dreams and visions. Well, God decided to make everyone in the land prophets at the end, right before He finally destroyed them — put a seal on all Prophets and visions as He said He would in Daniel 9 vs 24 - 27.

28 “After this, I will pour out my Spirit on all kinds of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions.
29 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants, both men and women.

Note that the majority of those who God made prophets in the last days —prophesied like prophets, had visions and dreams —were sinners who were destroyed in the mayhem that followed the end of the age. So, it is wrong to conclude that because the girls and other people of the time prophesied, that they were holy and saved.

By the way, after the last days came to a close about 1900 years ago, all those visions, prophecies, and dreams equally ceased.

So, if your private desire is to have virgin daughters who will remain valuable items to you even till marriage. That is one thing. But that desire of yours has absolutely nothing to do with God or that which God commands of His own. God did not call anyone to keep his or her virginity for his sake. Rather, He called His own to the obedience of His teachings and commandments.
