Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Mathew Kukah, has called on Federal Government to enforce the provision for the freedom of religion and worship as enshrined in the nation’s constitution and other laws of land.

According to Bishop Kukah, this can be done by providing adherents of different faiths in the country with places of worship in the various Federal Government establishments across the nation.

The Bishop who spoke to journalists shortly after the inaugural Mass at the catholic chaplaincy of the 119 Composite Group of the Nigeria Air force Sokoto, emphasized the importance of these places of worships that enable personnel to freely practice their religion.

He said most federal government universities, medical centres and other federal government establishments have no provisions for places of worship for Christians especially in many parts of Northern Nigeria, which is in breach of the constitutional provision.

This man is always divisive, yet he would not hastate claiming being elder State man. Some times ago he even made into the list of peace committee set up to commit politicians to peaceful conducts.
In as far as there are little or no presence of Christian places of worship in some of FG institutions in the north, the case is also true that one can hardly see any Muslim places of worship in FG institutions at the south where Christians are dominant. Citing out north as example was intentional mischief. By the way, Muslim and Christian mode of worship are not the same; Muslims mode necessitate that they have their place of worship close to where they work.
Only mischievous elements will subscribe to this kind Kuka's statement, if not we all are aware that our constitution which is the guiding principles of our coexistence as Nigerians gives, guides, and protects everyone freedom of worship.
Christians always hail him whenever he makes this his kind mischievous remarks. But what actually is the difference between him and sheikh Gummi who Christians would lambast by the time he makes his crook defend of bandits and other criminal groups causing security breach in the north.
