One of the reasons we find it difficult to even imagine the thought of practicing African spirituality is the fear of the unknown.

We have been told that it is bad, it is idol worship, so keep far away from it right?

We are lions who have been conditioned overtime to think and see ourselves like dogs.

The idea of roaring feels strange to us but we are comfortable barking.

Yes, we are comfortable barking because being a dog is comfortable. Everybody around us is a dog, so if you are too, you fit right in.

Learning to roar would mean that you have morph into a lion. That means doing things that could blow your own mind.

To become a lion, you have to be ready to freak yourself out and be freaked out by nature. Hearing yourself roar for the first time would sure freak you out. Hearing other lions roar and not being sure if they are out to devour you is sure to freak you out also.

Imagine you, Chibuzor, the son of Mr Jude, born on 15th August 1989, a boy from such a loveable, humble background standing barefooted, talking to the sun, in all it's glory.

Or beckoning on the spirits that guide the waters. I mean that's beyond what you can wrap your mind around.

Yes, because your father's father taught him how to be a dog instead of a lion, and your father transferred the same conditioning to you.

So, it is really not your fault.

You are a being that is here to commune directly with nature and the forces of the universe. You are a force of nature.

You aren't here to just go to school, get miseducated, get a job and start spurning children.

You are much more. You are here to play an active part in the perpetuation of the cycle and continuity of the universe. You have an assignment. You are a servant of the universe.

You should be communing with the sun, the waters, the air and the earth.

Talk to the morning sun with water in your hands when you are in distress. Ask for directions and observe your dreams.

Talk to the forces of the earth with a handful of sand at a 3/4 way junction, ask for directions and observe your dreams.

Talk to the wind. Talk to the gentle/violent wind. Tell them something, make a request and observe your dreams.

When you realize the things you are capable of, you won't waste time in the church. There are no answers in the abrahamic religions.

You are an earthling, a child of the universe. Interact to the universe directly.

Don't be afraid.
