Warns against Extortion of Money For Employment By Officials

The National Commission for the co-ordination and control of the proliferation of small arms, ammunition and light Weapons , NATCOM has drawn the attention of the public to a group of miscreants purporting themselves to be officials of NATCOM ,issuing illegal appointments letters, extorting money from innocent job seekers and parading themselves as officials of NATCOM.

In a letter signed and made available to pressmen by the chairman, Enquiries and disciplinary committee Commodore Idris E. Usman (Rtd) states; "The general public is hereby advised to disregard those officials and not to transact any bussiness with them on behalf of the commission".

"Consequently, those known to be involved and penciled in the illegality have been indefinitely suspended while investigation is ongoing.

The affected officers are being investigated for misconduct.

They are Alaji Joseph Achimi, Co-ordinating Director - human resources, Daniel Sule, Director international co-operation ànd protocol, Dalhatu Hammawa Dauda, head Special squad from national headquarters.

Others include; Agada Iduh Fidel , Benue state command, Festus Omaoka Fct command, Felix Effiong cross river command, Joshua Uturu Lagos state command, Steve De Great , Imo state command, Mujitafa Abdullahi , Katsina state command, Omata Sunday , Kogi state command and Ikhike Mohammed Anthony , Delta state command.

NATCOM is a law abiding institution and will never be involved in illegal practices .

The commission is optimistic that Nigeria's security challenges will be surmounted soon with its full realization, Commodore Idris (Rtd) streesed.
