When Jesus said " do not fear "
he was not trying to say "don't have fear as a feeling "
you can never (at all times) determine what you should feel,
but you can determine if you would allow the feelings to control you or not. )
he meant to say "if you feel fearful don't allow it control your actions .

It is not wrong to feel fearful but it can be wrong to act fearful .

He meant the same thing when he said
"don't be ashame of me and the Gospel ."
He is saying " don't act shameful ,not don't feel ashame . "

Our feelings are part of us ,and we can't throw them away ,but we can control them .
Feelings are the taste of your soul ;
By your feelings you perceive and discern what you soul is interacting with .

your emotion is a faculty through which you perceive your soul and even your spirit sometimes .
You are to subject your feelings to the government of God's word .

Uncontrolled emotions has led many people to take actions they live to later regret.

The Bible says "be angry and do not sin ."
anger could lead to murder or fight or unrepairable damages ,yet the word of God said "be angry " because God knows that you can't throw away your emotions for it is he who gave it to you to guide you .

But he said don't follow it prompting directly without subjecting your emotions to the moderations of his word .
He said so because :Foul spirits can prompt your emotion just to get you do the wrong thing ,and your own fleshly Desires ,and lust can do the same .

This is how to rule over you emotions :
1.Don't follow it directly .
2.use God's word to discern what's prompting it.
3.Be always mindful of your inner thoughts .
Be mindful of your teacher ,and helper (the holy Spirit ) and follow his leadings.
