Yesterday, the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator (Dr) Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah addressed Southeast security and other critical issues on Sunrise Daily (Channels Television), these are the excerpts incase you missed the interview;

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah On Sunrise Daily.

• I am complementing the efforts of my Governor who is the Chief Security Officer of Anambra State by giving a little support to an existing vigilante group in my constituency as a template for testing the pilot scheme.

• We need top-age technology like walkie-talkies to network our community for effective crime management.

• We must sensitise our people on spreading the videos posted on social media by the people who issue sit-at-home orders because it only creates Panic among the people.

• We need to get into a strategy that will network the region to achieve a better-secured southeast because security is everyone's business.

• The southeast leaders have taken the position of meeting with the President to ask for the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

• The installation of CCTV cameras across Anambra South is my personal initiative of combating crimes within the zone in support of the Anambra State government.

• I am in support that the agitation for self-determination in the southeast should be done democratically instead of using guns to kill the same people you are fighting for.

• I strongly believe that releasing Nnamdi Kanu will be a very good way of resolving the issues in the southeast.

• We must continue to ask for what is due for the southeast from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

• We need the political will in the southeast that will place the region in its rightful position because we have what it takes to develop our region.

With this, in response to critical questions asked during the interview, one would concur that Senator Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah believes in a more peaceful, democratic and strategic approach to tackle the original cause of agitation (sit at home) which some miscreants have hijacked to terrorize the people and degenerate the Igbo Economy.
Only one with the best interest of his people at heart will seek a better approach as this.
