The answer is $30.

Why? The $70 goods he bought in that same store is not money but goods that worth 70.

But if the question said how much value of money did the store lose?? Then the answer should be considered as $100.

Like I said, this is debatable.
The store owner could have said give me the 100 Bucks you stole, now pay 70 Bucks for what you bought. The thief gives him 100$ Bill and the store owner gives him 30$ change.
On this premise, I can argue that the store lost 170 Bucks.
