Cultists saved from mob action by the Police in Lagos after killing victim

The Lagos State Police Command reported on Friday that its officers had detained 27 people who were suspected of committing various offences, such as armed robbery, murder, and cultism.

At a press conference held on Friday at the command's headquarters in Ikeja, the state commissioner of police, Idowu Owohunwa, announced that weapons and ammunition had been found on the suspects.

"We have a total of 27 suspects before you today who committed various crimes, including armed robbery, murder, cultism, vandalism, etc.," he stated.

"From all these cases, which we successfully cracked, we recovered a total of six firearms, 12 rounds of live ammunition, one knife, two motorcycles, one vehicle, and SIM cards."

Owohunwa gave a synopsis of the arrest, saying that on June 30, authorities detained suspected members of the Kesari Confraternity, a cult that intended to avenge the murder of its leader in the Mushin region of the state.

Four suspects, Tobi Robert, 23, Opeyemi Adeosun, 22, Jenkeo Olumide, 20, Toheeb Tajudeen, 25, and Nurudeen Kazeem, 27, were taken into custody by police officers after they sprang into action.

They are a notorious armed robbery/cultism group terrorising Mushin and its surroundings, according to the investigation. The suspects admitted to being involved with the fraternity as active members. The search for further evading members and the recovery of additional active weapons is ongoing, the source added.

He added that the police were informed by a reliable source on July 28 at 3:30 p.m. of an ongoing jungle justice in the Aratunmi, Iba Okokomaiko area.

According to the CP, police officers on the scene saved the accused, Segun Ishola, alias Bouncer, 31, and Auwal Daud, called Blessing Boy, 21, from a mob after they shot and killed an Ojo Lion.

"A single-barreled pistol built in the area and one extended cartridge were found at the scene.

"The suspects said they were Eiye Confraternity members. Adejare Oyelade, Oyekanmi Kolawole, Omotosho Tunde, Moses Ishola, Wasiu Ojo, Tolulope Adebisi, Ifeoluwa Izokpu, and Adebanke Bello were all detained as a result of additional inquiry.

"Four locally-made single-barreled pistols with two live cartridges were recovered from them," the man added.

Remove the log in your eyes, Oga. The SE has always had the highest cult related activities that has undergone metamorphosis into UGM that ensure you sit at home the most important day of the week. Crime and murder rate in the SE is 10 times more than SW
