Without this essential skill, an applicant might hardly be picked, and even if mistakenly selected, would definitely not last in the show.





To appeal to the show organizers, I guess one would definitely have to give a very fake impression about himself or herself, and after getting selected, also pick a false strategy: You either lie about coming from a wretched background, lie about having a psychological problem, lie about having an illusional experience, lie about having feelings for a total stranger you just met in a TV show, and most prominently, lie about your age, to appeal to the audience.

The Big Brother Naija show has been that way, and most times, of course, the housemate with the most creative, manipulative, and emotional-captivating lie wins the show. Sometimes, even after the show, some participants continue to trot down this path of lies and controversy with the hope that it keeps them relevant. Well, this worked out for some but ended in shame for many.

Fifth on our list is the Big Brother Naija Virgin Mary, Wathoni Ayansi, the second woman in history to have conceived supernaturally. The season 5 lockdown housemate, while paying tribute to her son during one of the arena games, as Big Brother had instructed, revealed that she got pregnant without any sort of penetration or Preek action by any man.




Well, her claims weren’t backed by any angelic confirmation or announcement, just like in the case of her mentor in the Holy Scriptures, so I guess we won’t be unjust to label this controversial statement a "Capital Lie". That was a good try, Wathoni. You can do better next time!

Nengi------------ I am 22.
Next on this list is an aspirant of the young and getting-it gang, Rebecca Nengi Hampson. The Port-Harcourt-born and bred model said during the Big Brother Naija lockdown show that she was born on January 1st, 1998, and was 22 at that time. However, the not-really-smart Nengi failed to shut down tracks regarding her age falsification, an advantage less-busy Netizens capitalized on to uncover her lies. After due investigations by yet-to-be-employed internet users, it was discovered that the ex-Miss Bayelsa marked her 23rd birthday sometime around 2017, and in 2020, while she was in the house, she should be at least 26.




After the season 6 show ended, the Insistent 22-year-old Nengi insisted that she was indeed 22. She went ahead and displayed her British passport on her Instagram story, which indeed confirmed her claims. Well, we will have to leave it to her conscience to judge whether she is truly young and getting it or older but faking it, but I guess the latter is the case.
