BANK WAHALA!. Someone Should Please Help Me Decide. by 9182736455O1999(m): 8:01am On Jul 21, 2023
So i'll be needing my BVN printout for some really urgent matter and the bank seems to be the only medium I can get one from.
Currently, I only bank with Zenith bank but i created my BVN at Access bank.
Me thinking to the fact that a BVN is being used uniformly across all financial institutions, I jejely walked into one Zenith branch to ask for my BVN slip, considering the fact that my only active account is with Zenith bank. Getting to the customer care, I politely asked for my BVN printout and the first thing they asked me was "where did you create your BVN?" I told them it was at Access bank and I was told to go get it from Access bank.
Now geting to the Access bank and after the all and all, I was given one mini form to fill. I filled it and handed back the form to the attendant in front of me. The customer care attendant poinited to the left out space on the form which i deliberately ommited because it clearly stated "Customer account no. (If Access Bank)" and i replied her that the Access bank account I have is dormant. She told me she can't make the printout for me because they'll have to charge from the account. I said I have just one active account with Zenith bank and she conclude I should go get it from Zenith bank.
I got back to the Zenith bank again and after explaining everything to them, they still stand on their initial reply.
Thinking about this now is gradually pissing of off.
Guys which bank do you think should be accountable for providing me my BVN printout?

I tried making one online. But the site seems not to respond after puting in my BVN in the provided space.

I thought with your finger print, you should be able to get your print out , if your account is dormant at Access Bank reactivate it, when did they start charging for BVN print out sef ..

Nigerian banks can be crazy. But you guys sometimes blame the banks when they are not at fault.

Banking policies in Nigeria keep changing. Zenith Bank will make money from printing your BVN. But the same bank is reluctant to do so, which signals there might be a CBN policy prohibiting the bank from giving you the service.

What document, you have your BVN , ask them to check their system for your account number and if it is a cooporate account, get a letter head and reactivate the account.

It's an individual account and i'm sure they'll require a light utility bill and a valid means of identification.

If Zenith tells you to go to the bank that created your BVN, common sense should make you understand the directive is based on a CBN policy.

I would have told you to google CBN policy on printing of BVN. But nigerian database and information system is unreliable. Sometimes, it takes up to a year for some important policies to be circulated to the public. You may google the policy now and find nothing. You may google it and find something.

The point is the Zenith Bank likely has a good reason for telling you to go to the Access Bank.

Ok. I'll be heading back to Access bank.
Though when i got back to Zenith the second time. One attendant was like "the network for BVN blablabla is down and....." then the second one interupted and insisted i go to Access bank.
I am thinking maybe she could have done it for me.
Thanks anyways.

Regarding this. I just got back from Access bank, they explained to me that it's simply stated that any bank can give me the printout provided i am banking with them and Zenith is hell bent on me geting it from access bank.
These MFs be tossing me around. Guess it's time i stop banking with this Zenith bank.

Okay. I am sorry that my positive thinking misled me into giving you a wrong impression. I even almost accused you of being unjust to the Zenith Bank. I have learnt a lot from this conversation.

Useless Zenith.Though all of them are the same if they want to frustrate the living hell out of you.
The account is just dormant not closed and all you'll do is just to deposit and some questions will be asked.
Anyway enjoy your day

Just curious, how do you remember this your moniker?
