Nigerians are suffering in darkness. Only few of us in the neighbourhood where I live still use Gen. I came home one day, my neighbour welcome me with the N word, Nepa brought light bill. Nepa gave us light just one day after suffering in darkness for 20 days with constant darkness for the last 3 months.

Here where I live, Nepa only gives you light for few hours only when they are about to distribute light bills. Nepa is even selling light to four neighbouring West African countries, yet its masses are suffering and living with no electricity.

Is this not madness?

you don’t understand how the industry works. There is Genco- the dams and turbines operators - mostly owned or operated by private sector , then there is TCN - transmission company owned by government . Then you have discos- eko, ikeja, benin etc. The Gencos are the ones selling to Nearby states and also to TCN. There are times where the discos reject loads self from TCN. No such thing as NEPA again . Like i have explained there are different layers to this. Nothing concern Genco with retail customers like you.

No, the madness is that you willingly pay for light you never received. If my light not constant at least 75 % of the time that I am home, I am not paying. Let then disconnect me and I would pay a rogue electrician to reconnect me again.

All that you explain now can't justify the suffering of the people. I am working towards leaving Nigeria.

I will leave soon to Australia
