Dear doctor in d house, i would like u to advice me on my health prob. i've been battling with typhoid fever for almost a month. i got to know dis after a widal test. was carried out. i av visited GEneral hospital more dat two times and i was given an antibiotic drugs. along with multivitamin. i've used up d antibiotic drug except the multivitamin.and drug really worked cos some of d symptons such as feverish feeling i used to av av gone except FATIGUE. i usually feel tired from inside. and sometimes i lose my appetite despite d fact dat i take multivitamin. moreover, my tommy becomes flattened after defecating. pleasei reallyneedyour advice on wat to do

Lets start with ur remaining symptoms, after taking the antibiotics.
-Feeling tired and appetite loss: Now remember you've been taking ''anti-biotics'' which i assume youve done religiously for at least week without missing your shceduled doses.
Anti-biotics are exactly what theyre called ie anti = against; biotic = Life. The drugs kill microbes in bllod and tissue but that doesnt mean they do not exert similar 'antibiotic' effect on normal and healthy 'host' cells.
Youre bound to feel tired and run-down after many days taking these drugs. Your doctor probably believed your appetite would be affected, hence the multivitamin prescription.
- Stomach flattening after defecation: Were you expecting the stomach to enlarge after taking a dump ?
My advice ? Since your fever appears to be gone, i suspect the antibiotics have worked at ridding you of the typhoid.
Your other symptoms as I said, are just sequelae of the antibiotic treatment. Finish the multivitamins, eat fresh fruit and exercise. Youll be back to your old self.
