We often parse out our issues in Nigeria as purely economic; thus, we believe the panacea is just good leadership and viable economic solutions. But I posit that the palpable yet ignored incongruity (in terms of their political philosophies and sociocultural values) between the dominant groups threatens the prosperity of the country more than the economic issues & it’s likely going to be the catalyst for eventual disintegration.

I don’t see how a country can unite and advance with the disparate political philosophies, objectives, and value systems. One prefers the primacy of religious laws, another is amenable to being governed with civil laws, the third one hates Nigeria and can’t stand the other two- they can’t wait to even leave then you have the minorities who are caught up in these crucibles of egotistical politics, power tussles and ethnic suspicions.
