22 whole years. Some people will come here to shout IVF but they forget that it doesn't work for everybody.
I Thank God for them

It works for everybody, depending on your financial condition.

If you're a woman producing eggs, you can have your own child once there is money.

Even if you're no more producing eggs, you can still buy eggs.

Science has provided solutions to virtually all the health problems we still go to church to pray over.

At a time I was close to some of these pastors and GOs, they don't have any spiritual power.
They strive on people's gullibility and stupidity.

Nothing wey hard God to do....

The commenter right before me is a typical example of the chairlady of the association of village people.

This comment exemplifies how some Nigerians still possess stone age mentalities despite living in the 21st century CE.

Religion is the bane of the African continent, a tool for 21st century CE mental slavery. Be educated, not just certificated, and be enlightened. Peace unto you.

Lol.. I'm not against them, but we Nigerians are the biggest hypocrite on this planet earth....
If it were American news, you'll hear, "IVF baby now the solutions- woman gives birth"...
But here, everything na testimony... 22yrs of barrenness...
Lol, and worse, the couple will put head together and decide to lie publicly saying "After all the battles, God remember them".. lol

Give credence to who deserves it.. even if 100 persons deserves it in the procedure... Call all of them their name...
Here I agree say God no let the doctor die.. so God is given the praise...
The doctor nko? I want to know...
If they can omit the doctor, then they are ashamed of how the child came...

I always get pissed when people run to scream IVF in threads like these as if IVF is just a one off thing for everybody.

Lots of people do IVF more than 2 times and it fails and the trauma that follows it is so so excruciating. It's so annoying when people don't know what others are passing through.

Even IVF needs a miracle for success.

People will just be talking anyhow Mtchew.

I get you,but the Bible said God does not share His Glory with any man. Without Him, man can do or achieve nothing. In addition to giving life to the doctors and the patients, He gave the Doctors the knowledge of the IVF,He made sure the procedure was successful,He watched over the mother and the unborn child and ensured a smooth delivery. Without Him,we can do nothing. Of course,we acknowledge the roles of the doctors and nurses, but God receives all the Glory.

I can't blame them tho it takes God's Grace for IVF success I own a surrogacy agency so I know what I'm talking about the 2 wks wait after embryo transfer no be moi moi and anything can still happen during the pregnancy and during delivery
Even the doctors won't want any hype cos we advise commissioning couples to pray in anything they believe in , even me still dey on prayer and fasting on top on of my client case like this cos IVF na 50/50
But they we're suppose to acknowledge the hospital their procedure was carried out

A MUST READ.

ME ;-

We succumbed to the lures of West dictated, Neo Liberal economic policies of Unbridled Deregulation / Market Forces foisted by IBB - Military led SAP ! Since 89, the country entered " Reverse Slips. Present crops of Political Managers have No Ideological Arsenals to combat the spirals .

I enjoyed your writing until you started to shift the blame to the West. The same liberal economic politics is what built western economies and Asian economies to what they are today.

Secondly there wasn't really a single turning point where things went wrong. It has generally been a progressive decline. This happened because we failed to invest properly into the future. Generally Nigerians tend to be too myopic and short sighted. We don't know the future implications of what we do.

Let me give you an example. An average American or asian who builds a company, hopes that eventually the company becomes a public company that can stand on his own. Many small supermarkets in the US have long histories and were either bought or inherited from someone who retired or has died. There are small stores in NY downtown that have been there since the beginning of the 21st century. An average Nigerian however, wants to retain so much control over his company that eventually causes the company to fade away after his death. At least 70% of Nigeria's indigenous firms in the 70s are nowhere to be seen today. General Electric founded by Thomas Edison in 1892 is still one of the biggest companies in America today. Toshiba in Japan was founded in 1875. Even the world wars did not collapse these companies.

Secondly in government, there is no continuity. Nigerian presidents only care about what they can achieve in their tenure. But development is a relay race. We don't have strong long term plans for development. It takes decades to reap benefits and if we're not prepared to build for the next generation, the next generation would be worse.

The early benefits of oil in the 50s - 60s would have been spent on development which could have cripped militancy at it's infancy. Instead of that, the guys in charge started looting it and constructing vanity projects. It may interest you to know, that those who started this militancy of a thing, were servants of government adminiatrators in the Niger Delta.

Progressive lack of investments into the universities have led to a massive decline in education in Nigeria. In the 70s and 80s, malpractice was straight expulsion. Now it's so commonplace that it is rare to see someone that does not participate in it. How can you have local production with graduates who sorted their way through school and didn't learn anything of value?
