When someone speaks in parables {Matthew 13:13, 34} the best thing to do is for his audience to ask questions {Matthew 13:10, 36} the symbolical meaning of sword is division or war so when Jesus told his Jewish listeners he brought them no peace but sword it simply means his teachings will cause division among those that failed to understand him but within his faithful disciples there will be LOVE {John 13:34-35} JOY {Luke 10:17} and PEACE! John 14:27
Please feel free to ask thought provoking questions about the world's most wonderful counselor of all time, the mighty God, the everlasting father for obedient mankind who is the PRINCE of PEACE: Jesus of Nazareth! Isaiah 9:6

True Christians (Jehovah's Witnesses) always feel attracted to anyone who opens up on the things found in the Bible, we don't become easily irritated {James 1:19} no matter how the critic present his or her opinion {Matthew 10:16} all we strive to do is speak with mild temper and deep respect ! 1Peter 3:15

A first century Jew named Philip told his brother (Nathaniel) "we have found the Christ Jesus from Nazareth" Nathaniel's response was really offensive "can anything good come from Nazareth?" John 1:45-46

But Philip insisted that his brother should see Jesus for himself, what was Jesus' response to Nathaniel's offensive comment?

Jesus saw Na·thanʹa·el coming toward him and said about him: “See, truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit.” 48 Na·thanʹa·el said to him: “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him: “Before Philip called you, while you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Na·thanʹa·el responded: “Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are King of Israel.” 50 Jesus answered him: “Do you believe because I told you I saw you under the fig tree? You will see things greater than these.” 51 He then said to him: “Most truly I say to you men, you will see heaven opened up and the angels of God ascending and descending to the Son of man" John 1:47-51

From the above story Jesus Christ proved that we can quench Satan's missiles by calmly responding to anyone who is both inquisitive and sarcastic! Romans 12:21

I know you don't.

Now, did JESUS CHRIST ever handle a sword?

Answer that first before we proceed.

If Jesus meant literal SWORD his disciples won't be easy preys for Judaists at least there would be a record where one of his disciples used the SWORD to defend himself if not to fight for his religion.

What most people (including Muslims) failed to realize is that RELIGION is not what compels religionists to pick up weapons rather it's POLITICS as politicians claiming believers wants to remain relevant by force.

Jesus of Nazareth taught his own disciples not to rule over anyone rather they're to keep the faith as brothers and sisters so when it comes to forceful rules they are as cautious as serpents and innocent as doves! Matthew 10:16 smiley

Continue deceiving yourself. For the fact that a character was in possession of a sword with which he used to cut off the ear of a soldier, is enough proof of a licensed violence. Hence the response of biblical Jesus; He who kills by sword, dies by sword. ie, be prepared to hide from repraisal attacks, just like you have cult wars, drug and national wars.

The writers of the new testament were so confused that the missed out on this:

Acts 5
9. Then Peter said to her, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” 10 Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. 11 So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.

It is language that's affecting you guys.

Not trying to hold brief for the one you responded to but your claim as far as the meaning of what Jesus Christ said makes sense at all given what is written in Scripture.
50 Jesus answered, “Friend, do the thing you came to do.” Then the men came and grabbed Jesus and arrested him.
51 When that happened, one of the followers with Jesus grabbed his sword and pulled it out. He swung it at the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.
52 Jesus said to the man, “Put your sword back in its place. People who use swords will be killed with swords.
53 Surely you know I could ask my Father and he would give me more than twelve armies of angels.
54 But it must happen this way to show the truth of what the Scriptures said.”
55 Then Jesus said to the crowd, “Why do you come to get me with swords and clubs as if I were a criminal? Every day I sat in the Temple area teaching. You did not arrest me there.
56 But all these things have happened to show the full meaning of what the prophets wrote.” Then all of Jesus’ followers left him and ran away. - Matthew 26 vs 50 - 56
People who attack others with swords are seen as murderers, and God's Law, since even the time of Noah, has been that He would demand life from any one of His own who takes the life of another. undecided
5 Also, I will demand your blood for your lives. That is, I will demand the life of any person or animal that takes a human life.
6 “God made humans to be like himself. So whoever kills a person must be killed by another person.
7 “Have many children and fill the earth with your people.” - Genesis 9 vs 5 - 7

2. Again, here I believe the confusion is also yours. The passage you quoted made no mention of Peter doing any of what you pretend there. Rather, the writer insists that a force that was beyond the person of Peter laid both husband and wife down dead without notice. undecided

Jesus said each of them must own a sword at all cost {Luke 22:36} and the eleven men had just two of them in possession of swords what exactly did Jesus meant by saying:
"It's enough" Luke 22:38 smiley

YES! Not when unbelievers are still around to disrupt the serenity that's why he said when it's time to bring Paradise he will command his angels to EXTERMINATE all unbelievers {Luke 19:27} so his disciples mustn't lift up physical swords against anyone their job is to continue searching for the friends of peace {Luke 10:6} the angels won't say a single word to anyone who refused to welcome peacemakers in Jesus name all they're assigned to do is take away the breathe of enemies of peace! ■ He has answered himself in your bible. You can't know Jesus better than himself. He said he didn't bring peace but sword. Is sword used to eat pizza in your village
▢ God, promised He would use His sword in destroying all those of His Israel who refuse to listen to and obey Him. undecided
27 “If you still refuse to listen to me, and if you still turn against me,
28 then I will really show my anger! I—yes, I myself—will punish you seven times for your sins.
29 You will become so hungry that you will eat the bodies of your sons and daughters.
30 I will destroy your high places. I will cut down your incense altars. I will put your dead bodies on the dead bodies of your idols. You will be disgusting to me.
31 I will destroy your cities. I will make your holy places empty. I will stop smelling your offerings.
32 I will make your land empty. And your enemies who come to live there will be shocked at it.
33 I will scatter you among the nations. I will pull out my sword and destroy you. Your land will become empty, and your cities will be destroyed.
34 “You will be taken to your enemy’s country. Your country will be empty. So your land will finally get its rest. The land will enjoy its time of rest.
35 During the time that the land is empty, it will get the time of rest that you did not give it while you lived there.
36 The survivors will lose their courage in the land of their enemies. They will be afraid of everything. They will run around like a leaf blown by the wind. They will run as if someone is chasing them with a sword. They will fall even when no one is chasing them.
37 They will run as if someone is chasing them with a sword. They will fall over each other—even when no one is chasing them.
“You will not be strong enough to stand up against your enemies.

38 You will be lost in other nations. You will disappear in the land of your enemies.
39 So the survivors will rot away in their sin in their enemies’ countries. They will rot away in their sins just as their ancestors did. - Leviticus 26 vs 27 - 39
God's message against His enemies and the nations that allied with them against God, is continued in Deuteronomy 28 vs 15 - end.
▢ These events were heralded by the arrival of Jesus Christ, God's New Covenant, and God's Shepherd, the one who told you He came with the sword that would destroy the enemies of God.

I would very much like to call you a fool (actually you are — ignorant!)

Look for other places that the word 'sword' appears in the New Testament and gain understanding.
Even atheists are ashamed of you.
You people won't believe where the Bible said Jesus was raised from the dead, but you believe only the things you can use to make mockery (without even understanding)

Haven't you heard of symbolisms? Parables? Information like this was hidden so that people like you who have stirred up people to hate God will never understand, and be saved.

“They know nothing, they understand nothing; their eyes are plastered over so they cannot see, and their minds closed so they cannot understand. Such a person feeds on ashes; a deluded heart misleads him; he cannot save himself, or say, “Is not this thing in my right hand a lie?”
Isaiah 44:18-20

“Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” Then I said, “For how long, Lord?” And he answered: “Until the cities lie ruined and without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined and ravaged”
Isaiah 6:10‭-‬11

I wanted to dig up scriptures that show that the Sword is the Word of God but what's the need if your heart has been hardened and your eyes have been shut?

Is there a comprehension gap or something?

▢ Jesus Christ did not "bring" Paradise since Paradise already existed from the beginning and it simply is a reference to the grave where the dead in God sleep. So, you were wrong to assume in the first place that Jesus Christ came to bring you what you call Paradise

▢ As for peace, Jesus Christ told you that He did not come to bring peace to the world — the enemies of God —but to bring God's Sword which God promised He bring down on all His enemies from the time of Moses. And that destruction promised by God against His enemies happened over 1900 years ago when God destroyed Jerusalem along with all that was left of His Nation of Israel. undecided

2. How do you mean? undecided

OK. So, did God Himself not promise to bring a sword against all of His enemies in the Old Law of Moses, or what part of that do you not seem to understand? undecided
