Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Adamawa State.

The governor announced the decision on Sunday.

This is after the escalating attacks of hoodlums breaking into warehouses and carting away foodstuffs and other valuables.

Fintiri on his verified Twitter handle said the government took the action as a precaution to prevent the escalating violence by hoodlums attacking people and businesses.

The PUNCH in 2020 reported the looting of a government-owned warehouse at Kwana-waya by angry residents, who later broke into the Central stores located at Barkin Kogi and looted food items.

The governor said, “Effective immediately Sunday, July 30, 2023, I, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, have declared a 24-hour curfew in Adamawa State due to escalating violence by hoodlums attacking people and businesses.

“No movement is allowed, except for essential duties with valid ID. Your safety is our priority – please comply for the well-being of all,” he wrote.

I don't even know how to analyse news realistically again on this platform because some imbe-without-ciles who reside permanently on Nairaland and always rush to occupy front page have subtly turned us into closet tribalists and ethnocentric personalities.

Back to the story, the people in these states are mostly subsistent farmers and artisans and in the past few years of Buhari their farms have been overrun by bandits who seek for ransom before they are allowed to farm and many of them who couldn't comply were killed in their farms and the survivors abandoned their farms to a point where they have to feed their families with seedlings meant for seasonal farming and now that they have nothing to eat there minds are now fixated on forcefully breaking into warehouses to loot.

Now to the solution, Shettima represented Tinubu at the Russia Africa summit and I expected him to request for help from Putin in terms of grain supply which Putin has pledged to supply 50,000 tonnes to six African countries free and for us we could have asked for cheap discounted grain ti bring down the cost of food while we navigate through the subsidy removal and make the necessary adjustments.
Russia and Belarus can also supply us with fertiliser and agro equipment as they've just done to Zimbabwe with deliveries of close to 4000 tractors but it seems we only take advise from IMF and World Bank

These are not hoodlums, these are hunger caused by Tinubu. If something is not done on time. Nigeria will burned down. People are united in hunger.
