Spying is a major problem to developing nations like Nigeria. For example the IPHONE starting from IPHONE 12 is considered the most secured phone in the world but Nigeria is excluded, because we lack the technology to make it secure.
The security of any mobile device like the IPHONE largely depends on the network provider. For an IPHONE to be declared secure it must run on the 5G network.
And in Nigeria we largely run our phones on the available network which is 3G, 2G, and GSM, we hardly get 4G not to talk of 5G. Although just like the refinery license that was secured but not used by some organizations in Nigeria, so is the license for 5G being obtained without use. Currently 3 organizations have the 5G license namely Airtel, Mtn and Mafab communications Ltd.

IMPLICATIONS
So the implications of running our phone on insecure network includes:
1. Any body with only a laptop can capture, view, and edit our calls, sms, and mms, this is called spying.
2. Anybody can install a remote application on your phone.

HOW TO STAY SAFE A LITTLE
1. Use only email to receive bank alerts.
2. Use VoIP applications to make and receive sensitive calls.
3. Make sure to regularly scan your phone to know if any application was installed via your network.
NOTE: That 5G is not 100 percent secure but it helps.

I laugh when some people say Iphone is secure by default!

Mine started with my email not synching for days, then my whstapp is always banned and unbanned. Even after resetting the phone.

I checked my phone IP and noticed it has been blacklisted coz of spam.. I later found out that my phone was hacked and used for some spamming activities.. I also receive calls from foreign numbers..

My advice..

Always block any foreign number that calls you.
