I know that I spend more on fuel now. I spend 3 times more than i used to with very strict movement plan.

It used to be 5k every week now 15k with restrictions in movement.

I was benefiting from fuel subsidy. I deed and wish to have it back.

But the reality is prophecy must fulfill.
The situation is caused by the one who prophesied about it but by the person who knows he has a short period of time left.

sadly the suffering will continue for the majority.

It truly does not belong to man to direct his steps.

It is harder because of the hypnotism.

It doesn't matter if you enjoy subsidy... It is gone... Gone for good..

Live with it......

You are not even benefiting from subsidy, only a few powerful people are benefiting from it, we the citizens only get a crumb

Let me measure your Administrative ability as a human

Let's say you become The President today

1: No Subsidy in 2022/2023 budget

There are some of the many options I would take:
a. Secure a supplementary budget to retain subsidy until year end 2023 even if it means getting a loan.
b. Deep dive into the inefficiencies of the current fuel subsidy system to block all leakages as a point of national emergency. Pardon my french but you get the idea.
c. Immediately institute an external audit of NNPC and ruthlessly address all issues thrown up from the audit. Do the same for NPA and customs and eliminate the ridiculous tariffs that have crippled our revenue generation by giving rise to importers seeking alternatives like shipping through Benin or worse still smuggling.
d.ensure at least 1 refinery comes up before the end of the year and at least 3 comes up before the end of 2024.
e. Implement at least 5 CNG conversion centers

2: inflation is going up.

a. provide tax incentives and loans for massive food importation to ensure massive Increased food supply at lower prices. This will help stabilise food prices.
b. Implement a task force to focus on the food supply chain bottlenecks such as infrastructure deficit in the rural areas, storage deficits, multiple taxation of food transporters which all contribute to inflated food prices. Combine that with agric loans to farmers and inputs like access to tractors and fertilizers for farm cooperatives and ensure judicious use of these supplies to avoid corruption and failure of these policies.
c. Massive food cultivation and incentives to go into all kinds of farming across the country.
d. Significant support for small and medium sized businesses and entrepreneurs by providing soft loans on merit to deserving candidates nationwide to help their businesses grow and stimulate the economy.
e. Conduct a massive overhaul of governance spending and implement austerity measures to cut government spending by at least 40% with those savings directly invested in funding CNG conversion subsidies across the 36 states.

There are so many things that can and should be done. I've not spoken on education, health or security. Let's just start with these for the economy

3: your next budget is after fully setting up all commitee of National Assembly

What will you do?!

Give an insight

I am not a fan of government soft loans to business. They are usually squandered.

It would have been better if the CBN fought inflation. Tinubu and the CBN do not want the economy to enter a recession and have therefore been dovish about inflation.

Low inflation would be the best present to the suffering masses. Next should be to bring commercial lending rates from banks down to single digits. Rates of 9% and less should be the standard. This will help certain perk up the economy

These are good points, but as Nigerians that we are we need to tell ourselves the truth, low inflation will not happen overnight from where Buhari left, how would be a country that was servicing debts with trillions would automatically have low inflation within months, also consider this government is trying to mop up money being used to defend the naira and pay subsidy and there is intense pressure from labour to double or even triple minimum wage amidst this same inflation , I don't see how the inflation would come down drastically. While I share the idea that banks should be made responsible for these loans by reducing lending percentage, me and you know that the banks itself are another conduit for manipulation, nepotism and corruption as well. Also not minding the fact that these banks are business and would take advantage to make unprecedented profits for itself and it's share holders and might not even capture as much as many SMEs as possible. It's just a situation btw death and the deep blue sea in my opinion.

What are service are we benefiting from any government. There no security of lives and properties, the energy we pay for it , medical bills we pay for it, even drinking water we pay for it, school feels. In my opinion besides roads nothing is provided by the government.

Saying that fuel subsidy only benefit a few selected rich groups is the most irresponsible fallacy President Tinubu could come up with. I wonder why those selected few groups are not complaining, but it is the many who are not benefiting that are biting on this current hardship he has bestowed upon us!

Subsidy money that could have been better spent on bettering your lot has been funnelled into the pockets of a select few but since I am too cowardly to address these few, the rest of the 200m of you have to suffer.

A correct interpretation of Bubala's tonight's speech.

God will bless you my brother . He is saying there are thieves that are bigger than the nation’s presidential POWERS and institutions that they cannot be brought to book . Instead Nigerians must suffer for the country’s weak leadership . This is sad and disturbing .

Lastly , he is appointing known thieves into critical positions . Since he is an alleged thief himself , it is not surprising . A country with no justice is a Jungle .

Talk is cheap
If you are indeed serious about revamping the economy, what are the likes of Wike, ElRufai and co doing in your cabinet?
It's still these same people you want to use to drive your economic agenda.
Even the lowliest matter which is the meeting with NLC, your appointees didn't take the matter serious as reported by labour.

15. To strengthen the manufacturing sector, increase its capacity to expand and create good paying jobs, we are going to spend N75 billion between July 2023 and March 2024. Our objective is to fund 75 enterprises with great potential to kick-start a sustainable economic growth, accelerate structural transformation and improve productivity. Each of the 75 manufacturing enterprises will be able to access N1 Billion credit at 9% per annum with maximum of 60 months repayment for long term loans and 12 months for working capital.

16. Our administration recognises the importance of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and the informal sector as drivers of growth. We are going to energise this very important sector with N125 billion.

17. Out of the sum, we will spend N50 billion on Conditional Grant to 1 million nano businesses between now and March 2024. Our target is to give N50,000 each to 1,300 nano business owners in each of the 774 local governments across the country.

18. Ultimately, this programme will further drive financial inclusion by onboarding beneficiaries into the formal banking system. In like manner, we will fund 100,000 MSMEs and start-ups with N75 billion
. Under this scheme, each enterprise promoter will be able to get between N500,000 to N1million at 9% interest per annum and a repayment period of 36 months.

Those are 4 to 5 different business opportunities. Start using your brain and stop wailing all over the place.
Some will take advantage of it, and people like you will come back to claim that the govt made them prosperous many years from now. But when the opportunities were made available today, you are so blinded by the cacophony of politics that you failed to see them.
Some are already thinking about how to get some of this money for real and viable businesses.

Hmm...

This is why nigeria cannot progress.

You claim persons stole trillions, corrupted the system & caused hardship for millions... yet, you are allowing them go scot-free.

What stops another group of exploiters from hijacking another government scheme & making trillions when they know nothing will happen to them...

Any society not built on justice & punishment cannot progress.

Trillions have been saved since removing subsidy - how much are we talking about
our refineries are dead what are your plans to revive them
a pound goes for 1200ngr now, i can't see how your monitoring plan will bring this under 1k
even if obi is president he would be facing same ordeal cuz BAT selfishly fought against subsidy removal 11yrs ago when our economy could have the stamina to withstand the rough terrain and would have stabilised a bit by now
our politicians are the ones killing this country unpatriotic selfish bunch of empty headed goats angry
