Many people don't know the question so they don't ask

Many know the question but they are asking in the wrong pattern

But don't worry you are about to know this question and how you can boost your sales in the next 30 days and make more profits.

I came across this question from one of the greatest copywriters and Marketers Gary Bencivenga in one of his marketing bullets.

And the question goes like this …

"What are we really selling"

This is the question every business owner must ask before attempting to sell anything to anyone.

Because come to look at it if you don't know what you are really selling

you won't know who you are selling to

Or how you are going to sell the product.

Or the technique you will use to sell the product.

Or the benefits of what you are selling

Now if you are selling a bed, you are not just selling a bed, you are selling a comfort system for people after a long and stressful day at work…

If you are selling water, you are selling a solution to thirst under a hot sun.

If you are selling food, you are selling a solution to hunger not a plate of rice.

Are you getting the gist…

When you are selling start looking at the inner benefits of the product instead of mere features.

Now let's look at another example:

Assuming two people are selling perfume:

First Ad: Come and buy my perfume I haven't eaten since morning.

Second Ad: "Smell fresh every time and everywhere you go with this"

One of the ads will convert better, which is the second Ad.

Even if you look at the big companies around the world they have a particular way of advertising what they are selling.

They are selling the main benefits to the people.

Take phones for an illustration.

The same thing goes for Samsung

Infinix, Tecno, itel is selling the cheapest smartphone in the market.

They are fulfilling the desire of their customers

And how are you giving your prospects what they want?

And as a business owner, if you want to build a business and not just a business, you must know what you are really selling…

And you must use the information you get to communicate with your prospective customers.

Another thing is the ability to determine what you are really selling…

It is one thing to create a product but another thing to know exactly how you are going to sell it to prospects.

But I will be giving you some methods to use to determine what you are really selling.

First Method

Observe the pain point of your customer, what problem are they facing most, and what they want to solve….

You can know that by doing some research

If you want to sell a course to someone who wants to make money online…

You can't just go and say something like this " how to make money online"

It won't work at all in this era.

In this case, you should study what life without money looks like…

Then create the picture in the mind of your prospects by saying something like this " If you can give me two minutes of your time, you won't have to worry about money again… "

That's how you sell to people and make more profits.

When you are using the pain point of your prospects it shouldn't be offensive but rather persuasive and sympathetic…

With this, they will be ready to listen to you without any doubt.

Now look at your products. What is that thing that people are suffering from your products can help them ease … then make use of it.

Second Method;

This is where you use the good life your products will bring to people when they buy them, you can use this method mostly when you are selling luxury items

Items like SUV cars, expensive wristwatches, high ticket courses, etc.

This is when you deal with people's ego, exclusivity, and greed.

Many people buy SUVs, cars, and wristwatches just because they want to belong to a specific group of people…

Look at the statement below;

"90 Nigerian Millionaires are using this Wristwatch but what are you waiting for, you don't want to join them? "

Here we are not selling wristwatches, we are selling the community of millionaires to people.

Even people who don't have half a million in their account will be salivating to buy it… just because they want to belong to the group.

This is also a place where you tap into people's hidden desires,

For example, some men want to protect their ego by being good in bed …

As a smart marketer, your job is to use this emotion to sell to them…

People just don't buy products, they buy transformation and how their life will move from one place to another for the better…

And if you can promise that, they will listen to you more…
