Stop comparing America with African countries in terms of leadership because US institutions are bigger than their President, Governors and Senators.


On the other hand, African country Presidents are bigger than all their national institutions, so it is important for African countries to elect young leaders with integrity and respect for humanity, ready to build strong national institutions not old criminals that are used to disrespecting national institutions just because they are the President.



What makes a country great is not the President but how strong her institutions are. If INEC was a strong institution that ensures Nigerian people's votes count, believe me, every Nigerian will respect INEC and any candidate it announces as President or Governor or Senator.




Take a look at Nigeria and how Buhari disrespected court orders without consequences, it can never happen in the US.


Any country that its leaders are above the judiciary and law courts is headed for doom.




Another way to get Nigeria to work, being a multiethnic country is to restructure the federal government leadership.


Make it constitutional for Nigeria's President to be rotated between the 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria with each President serving a single 5-year term.



Another option is to abolish Presidential system and adopt Regional system with Parliaments.



Let Nigeria be governed by 6 regional Prime Ministers to be elected from the 6 geopolitical zones, and let the National PM to head the National Government be rotated amongst the 6 Regional Prime Ministers; each will serve as the Central Leader of Nigeria for 1 year, and their entire tenure will end after 6 years.


Then abolish Senate/Reps and replace them with regional lawmakers to comprise of 1 member of parliament from each state.

But since there must be a leader, they can use some strategies to reduce tension and crises by making it constitutional to rotate their country's President amongst the tribes that makeup the country.



Nigeria for instance, can rotate their own amongst the 6 geopolitical zones for inclusiveness, fairness, justice, and equity, which would also encourage healthy competition and reduce ethnic clashes and tensions
