Here are some tips on how to clean a bird cage:

Remove your bird from the cage. This will make it easier to clean and your bird will be safe from any chemicals or cleaning products that you use.
Empty the food and water bowls. Rinse them with hot water and soap, and then dry them thoroughly.
Remove the litter. If you use newspaper, crumple it up and throw it away. If you use wood shavings or sand, scoop them out and dispose of them in a sealed bag.
Wipe down the cage with a mild soap and water solution. Be sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
Rinse the cage thoroughly with clean water.
Dry the cage with a clean towel.
Replace the litter.
Put your bird back in the cage.
