Stop over rating Tinubu & ECOWAS. All these na initial gra gra. Where is the money to prosecute the war...

you're the one underrating ecowas and your country. ecowas is a union/marriage between many West Africa countries and there's a military cooperation agreement between them.
If one of your family members who looks up to you is having a difficult time, will you turn a blind eye? It is our duty to support them.
There's no war, it is a military intervention.
Nigeria going to war with Niger is like Russia invading Ukraine. We no be their mate but it's not war. We need to help them

I wish you understand that members of Nigeria's arm forces don't know a quarter of the 1.2millonKm2 that makes up Niger landmass. The 230k army is finding it difficult to comb Sambisa forest alone let alone Bauchi forest. Please, diplomacy and dialogue are still the best options here.

Curse777:

In Africa when it comes to military might

1st Egypt 2nd South Africa, 3rd Nigeria, 4th Ethiopia

12,000 Niger Soldiers would die in the hands of 230,000 Nigerian Army within a week

You may hate democracy
You may hate Nigeria your country

But Nigeria Army can never be compared to Niger Army

Curious345:
My take

1- they listened to the 98% who opposed the war .

2- Tinubu didn't want to squander the ₦1 trillion saved from subsidy on a war.

3- they are scared of the wider consequences.

4- they are scared of proxy wars (Niger can decide to supply arms to iswap and Boko haram) .

5-lack of a consensus for action within the ranks of ECOWAS .

6 poor troop morale .

7- Wagner factor .

8- alliance of Guinea ,Mali and burkina Faso with Niger .

9- refugee crisis.

This is a needless war that should have never been contemplated .. they better back off
No 3 is a joke. grin Trillion for their pockets.

How did we get here.
With all the problems on the home front that needs attention, all Tinubu could be bothered with is playing Big Brother.
Majority of their citizens no even send am...lol.
They even call him Ebola.

He should just condemn the coup & apply necessary sanctions.
Tinubu himself deployed his thugs to beat up voters in Lagos.
He should stop deceiving himself by forming a democrat we already know who he is; a mandate thief just like the junta he condemns in Niger

Bros, Nigeria isn't in a good place right now.
Let me ask you this; what's the motive for going to war against Niger?
Or is Tinubu trying to impress Western powers forming their boots on the ground...
If discouraging military dictatorship in West Africa is the reason for embarking on this war, then why has he not threatened Guinea, Mali & the other countries that have military junta

Attacking Niger would be a mercy. The sanctions are what people should really be focused on.

Niger has lost 70% of it's electricity, a no-fly zone has been setup, so no one can fly in or out of the country, and the borders have been shut. Which means, imports and exports have ceased. Niger is effectively dead in the water.

And all of this, for the simple ambitions of one man. The real reason General Tchani struck, is because President Bazoum was set to reform the military command - which would have led to him being forcibly retired.

He simply ceased the moment; using anti-colonist rhetoric to garner the support of the masses. Which, in reality makes him a hypocrite, as he's been working with these same "colonizers" and "oppressors" for decades.

You people just keep making me laugh...!!

Just yesterday cargo plane landed in Niamey Niger Republic with Wagner PMC instructors and equipments...!!

Niger have access to the sea via Algeria and other sister West African counties who are on same page with her..!!

You people should stare the reality in the face...There is nothing ECOWAS would do or able to do except if they want the whole sub-region in tomoil...!!!

Go to the North and hear what the Islamic clerics are saying...in the event of any crises you would see lots of Nigerians fighting on the side of Niger Republic after all blood is thicker than water...ECOWAS or no ECOWAS...!!! grin

Niger already said they would fuurck the ECOWAS troops up should they venture into their country...!!

Fighting a country larger than Nigeria in land mass won't be a walk in the park and the majority of the population is behind their military leader which would further complicate things for any invading force...!!

Cutting off their electricity is the most stupid and dumbest thing to do as its a direct violation of agreement reached in the past which is tantamount to breach of agreement...!

If Niger decides to pay Nigeria back by daming the river upstream that's it for Kainji dam and not only that would also affect other areas like farming...!!!
Ethiopia/Egypt water crisis comes to mind here...!!

My own is Nigerian should concentrate on solving their own internal issue and forget about France for now...!!!!

We don't need extra funding for deployment

You love theories too much. This war is more than Niger and Nigeria abi divided ECOWAS.

This will trigger a religious war. Insurgents and Terrorists will be involved as allies.
Remember Nigeria has porous borders and corrupt/tribal/religious affiliated officers.

This war will also expand the rift among African nations on religious lines. The Northern side will be heavily affected as they'll feel the impact of the war.

On paper, Niger is a crush over but reality is different.
