I doubt if someone would really wish himself this kind of calamity if truly he's not the one.

To some extent I believe you but if this is not real, know what you are doing. For sure, you wouldn't want this to happen to you.

I am not saying the op is a scam or not but here is my take. His write up seems to be the typical style scammers use.

New moniker: most scammers create new account.

Threaten suicide. He also did this.

Always no father, mother, or anyone.

Exaggerate a situation: he claimed to be roaming about, sleep on in dangerous places. Probably on the street?

Suggest an unreliable way to prove their claims. Picture of burnt building or the individual in the burnt building doesn't prove anything.

I have a building close to me that got burn some weeks ago. I can say that my everything is gone and I have no one, no place to stay or money to rent another house then solicit for money, when requested to snap pictures I can also do it. Does it proves anything?

@ Garrieveryday People go to various length just to scam people. Some even use sick people pictures... etc.

Here is the same kind of scam that was busted on nairaland.
https://www.nairaland.com/7029387/nairalander-lost-phone-shop-fire

In fact the same thing happening in this thread also took place on the thread I posted.

I believe there are people that would wish to help you but everyone is weary of giving his hand earned money to scam. It is your duty to prove your claim beyond reasonable doubt.

@NiceUpper I suggest op should drop the state, town and exact location of the house. There should be nairalanders there who can do an in person verification of your claims.

NB: the nairalander has to be an old member. He or she should must act smart, ask people around e.g the shop owner beside the building if you were a tenant and so on.

Just going through your thread, the similarities are so glaring

An equally new moniker has asked for account number (obvious ruse of course, it's most likely his alternate)

The aggressiveness with which he's begging and giving ultimatums like he's in a hurry. They know they'll usually get busted, they just want to get as much as they can before that happens

Attached is the address of the building. Anybody in Calabar or wherever can confirm it. Also, he or she should ask if one of the affected people is by name Umoh. I know some nairalanders here who base in Calabar that can help verify but I don't want to call them so that people would not say am conniving with them. If there's a way to collect even police statement for this, I would do it.

The email address on that sign board is not easily read. Can you please take the picture from an angle where it can be read. That can also be used for verification. undecided

Oga, every case is not scam. I have posted the address of the compound above. There's nothing to hide to scam. I'm very real. If the person reach there, he can call me to come there and I will go and meet him and we would ask around together from if I was living in the house or not. I totally understand you guys stand. Scammers have spoilt it for genuine help seekers.

Why is the email address not visible? It is the surest way people can verify your claim i.e through the church.

Secondly, don't be smart by half. Asking whether a person named so so is not a reliable way to verify your claim. Anyone can claim to be anyone.

Sure a house was razed down by fire. You snapped inside, hope you know anyone can do that? Even scammers or people that are not tenants.

Someone almost scam people with the same kind of story as yours. He also snapped inside the burnt building. But it turns out he is trying to use an unfortunate incident that happened with another person to scam people of their money.

Scam.
You went to take pics of an abandoned burnt building around you to fleece us abi.

1. Why aren't there any pictures of the building WHILE IT WAS BURNING? It takes hours for fire to leave this level of damage.

Nobody around took even one pic?

You should edit this your post by now, having failed to find where I am scamming.

here is what you should do instead: post your picture WHILE STANDNG in front of that house AND write down the exact address of where this house is located and the name/number of house owner too

Have you found out truly this is a scam?

Good one. And he should also show proof of payment of rent to the owner of the house.

Evening to you all

For someone whos supposedly begging, you're too aggressive, entitled and in a hurry... Like anyone owes you anything here

If youre not a scammer, all you would have done is drop all details at the first page without being asked and give it a rest. People who want to help will reach out to you.

The way you're going about it, the charasteristics of an impatient scam artist is smelling over you. All the alternate monikers coming out to "confirm youre for real" is the final nail in your coffin, its a dead give away

You dont go to a forum where youve not built a name and ask people to send you help because your house is burnt, its never done. The response youre currently getting is most likely what you will get

In the event you decide to come beg anyways, you will have to prove yourself beyond reasonable doubt, thats the way things work.

Personally, I dont think youre a genuine(pending when I get irrefutable evidence to the contrary). All the people coming here to "confirm" you're real are equally suspect monikers so that leaves me no other option than to maintain status quo. Im lending a voice to your issue because if allowed to fester this will become the new norm here as we Nigerians are masters at abusing every little opportunity

I don't know what else you want me to do but while you go about in your investigation, please reduce the number of times you are tagging the thread as a scam. For now, you have not found vividly any proof that shows the thread is a scam. The Church signpost is there. I am not the one that made the signpost. It has been there for years. That is the address of the building. At least the church cannot be a party to my scam attempt. Find out if I am actually scamming or not.

Hello all, contrary to the opinion of some people here that I am feeling entitled to get help, please I am not feeling entitled in anyway.

Rather, I feel sad that nobody is believing my story even when I am 100% real. This unfortunate incident happened to me live. I wish there's another nairalander in Calabar who can help verify this story.

Sadly, that's what scammers have succeded.

so in order to present another thing as a proof, I got this receipt from a neighbour to show to you people here, believing that it could help to convince someone.
