Having more tires mean there is a greater surface area in contact with the road which is good for traction and stability .

Hmmmm.... maybe trucks used in mines to haul ore. How can they make sharp turns?... unless the wheels do turn. I've seen construction cranes with several wheels and they all turn ... but the length is like that of a shipping container. I've also seen heavy duty trucks and some luxury buses do have hydraulic wheels. Maybe this one also has.... after dropping the load will lift all 4 or 6 wheels.
