Chiwetalu Agu has revealed that he cooked for Biafran Soldiers during the war in an interview he granted to journalist, Chude Jideonwo. The veteran actor said he was 12 years old and in the Biafran boys company, running errands for Biafran Soldiers and well as doing 'recce' against the enemy

He said he was later drafted to Amaigbo Hospital, Orlu, in present day Imo State, and assigned to hospitals kitchen where he was peeling yam and helping to cook for wounded Biafran Soldiers sent to the hospital. He said his pay was the scraps of food he could salvage which he took back to his mother.

He also talked about his arrest by Soldiers in October 2021 for wearing Biafran attire. He said he had just finished shooting a movie in Asaba and was driving through Onitsha to Enugu when he stopped to greet his fans, was accosted by Soldiers who arrested him and took him to 82 Division Enugu from where he was transferred to DSS Headquarters Abuja. He said he commited no offence as no law bars anyone from wearing Biafran attire. He thanked his Lawyer, Mike Ozehkome for securing his release. He said he later found out that an APC politician in Anambra State was the one who called the Army to arrest him, thinking he was mobilising support for PDP in Onitsha

He also said that Nnamdi Kanu's agitation for Biafra was justified

Interpretation
