I so much love those Ak women in this life and next will choose them over and over. Especially those who grew up there but exposure took them outside..love how they speak English. Very friendly and they are very clean
They are very good neighbors, that's why I laugh at Ronu miscreants commenting rubbish here from their brown roofs.

That's wealth distribution. The major problem in Nigeria. Nevertheless, Akwa Ibom is more developed than Abia State.

Will you listen for a second?

Ikot-Ekpene is nearer to Aba (15 -20 minutes drive) than to Uyo (30 - 40 minutes drive). Intermarriage between the border towns is unprecedented. The people are just one united people speaking both languages Ibibio and Igbo interchangeably.

Secondly, you only require a polythene bag with two clothes to start a living in Aba and become rich if you are hard-working but it is not so in Ikot-Ekpene or Uyo. That is what the young man is trying to communicate and not this dïck measuring contest.

It is not by edifice but employment opportunities (self, civil or public) or even trading.

That so called work complex is operating at huge loss but you won't know because if oil. Tinapa failed, we warned them, yorubas supported them and they called us haters. Small boundary adjustment cross River lost oil well and weed overtook Tinapa

Nothing like employment opportunities in civil servant if you're not an indigene of Abia state

Nothing like public opportunities because it is very limited. The reason educated ones flee from the city as they graduate in Aba.

In trading, you can get a job a sells man. That's for sure but the salary is nothing to write home about.

Besides, when you have the edifice, is it for decorations or to generate revenue?

Maybe with Oti, things might change for better.

Tinapa failed because Aba and Abia State were cut off from being accessible to Tinapa when the Federal roads failed.

I remember vividly that Tinapa was a Sunday, Sunday enjoyment galore for Aba traders from 2005 to 2008 or thereabout.

Bloody liar. Tinapa failed because the federal government refused to grant it free trade zone status which was the main reason for establishing it.

I don't usually quote misinformed or unintelligent submissions. As I said earlier, Aba is an Economic Hub with millions of opportunities. It is a city where you arrive with a polythene bag and becomes a millionaire in three years or less. It is a city that lifts the poor to the middle class in no distant time.

For understanding what opportunities abound in Aba, there are more Banks in Aba than the entire Akwaibom State combined. Think about that.

Stop looking at Aba as an ordinary city, it's a State that Nigeria refused to create. It is Japan of Africa.

One travel to the city will change your perception.

Is it the same Aba I lived for almost a decade? Keep fooling yourself.

Which Banks, Apart from Faulks road with 3 or 4 banks, Aba Owerri road, Ogbor hill and one or two other roads, where else do you have banks? grin

You are too childish and uninformed. Did you ever travel to Tinapa for anything in your life? You, people, will just be putting your mouth in what you know nothing about. A flourishing business doesn't need your FTZ to succeed.

Aba traders and indeed Igbo business people wanted such a facility around but had none hence Tinapa was their home every weekend. The Economic activities were unprecedented and attracted a lot of opportunities until all the Federal road leading to the zone failed and was neglected.

False. Without free trade zone, who will do business in Tinapa and what will Aba people patronize in an empty place?

It was the state government themselves that attributed failure of Tinapa to collapse of federal roads linking them to other parts of the country so I don't think you know better. Another factor is loss of oil producing status, they would have used oil money to mantain the place while operating at a loss. I'm sure that's exactly what is happening in Akwa Ibom

Without free trade zone it could have been operating low key local way. Total failure has nothing to do with FTZ

How old are you? Are you even Igbo?

Igbos have no problem with Akwa-Cross. We have always enjoyed cordial relationship with them since ages. After Igbos in Aba, Ibibio people are the next highest number of settlers. Someone posted a picture to glorify Ikot Ekpene only for you to start criticizing childishly. A smart person chooses his battles smartly.

It's really a shame when people like you bring unnecessary antagonism toward Igbos. SMH.

Ikot Ekpene is the 3rd most important city in Akwa Ibom but I bet you it's far better than all the so-called cities in SW except Lagos.

The slum below is a typical "city" in Southwest, can you compare it to Ikot Ekpene?
