I wanted to withdraw money from a palmpay POS agent and the agent asked me to transfer to her account to receive cash. The agent's account number was printed on her stop without an account name.

So, while inputting the account number, I mixed up the last two digits and the money erroneously got sent to the following account details.

Account name: Idowu Fatima
Account Number: 8900542948
Amount: 10,000.

I have contacted Fidelity bank where I sent the money from and PalmPay but both banks keep telling me that they are working on it.

It's been over a week now and I am yet to get any positive feedback. I was wondering if the money was 200k or a bigger amount of money, is this how my money would be gone?

Has anyone had an experience like this? Is there any palmpay agent in this platform that can help me get my money back?

Why not contact the receiver since Opay accounts are created using phone numbers...then negotiate your refund or use the conversation as evidence to make your bank take action.


It's so sad to note that our banks are not customer friendly or proactive towards customers protection.
