What Saved The Day When You Almost Quit The Faith?

There's often that tempestuous moment in the life of every believer. The moment when everything they believed seem to fail them, that they got to the brink and were about to throw in the towel.

I have come to that point once in my spiritual life before. I had become so fed up to the point I even completely stopped praying for about six whole months.

It was that serious, but what saved the day for me was my spiritual foundation.

That was when I realized what Jesus meant with this saying:

Matthew 7:24-25 (KJV)

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

I had done exactly what the wise man described in the saying of Jesus did.

I did not just hear the Words of Jesus, I also obeyed them. However I didn't realize what I was doing until when the storms came.

The storms came and hit me hard, so hard, I couldn't take it anymore. I had already given up thinking it was all over, but that was when the foundation I built my spiritual life upon came to the fore, and made me realize what I was doing when I didn't just hear but also obeyed what Jesus commanded us to do.

I was actually preparing for the day of the storms, hence when the storms came, even though it beat me so hard and shook me to that extent, it couldn't make me crash because my spiritual life was built upon the Solid Rock.

Therefore it was that Rock held me in place when I had already given up and about to fall.

It was that Rock which said I wasn't going anywhere, that He will never leave me not forsake me.

Even when I hadn't prayed for months, the Rock still kept me meditating on His Word and speaking It despite not reading the Bible, and also kept giving me the utterance to speak in tongues despite not praying and without my consent or approval.

It was really scary and confounding I literally screamed, "na which kind thing be this na," because that was exactly what I was trying to avoid when I decided to stop praying or reading the Bible. I wanted to completely cut off any spiritual or emotional ties I had with God if possible.

But it seems God no gree to let me go. He appeared to be saying that I wasn't going anywhere Jose.

That was when I realized that the bond I had formed with Him when I decided to do whatever He says was an everlasting one which could never be broken.

It was a marriage which nothing and no one could put asunder.

Hence I gave up on trying to leave God because I knew that I was just wasting my time.

I shouldn't have ever committed myself to Him by keeping His Word if I ever wanted to leave Him.

That was when I realized why Jesus' Words were so important to Him that He kept emphasizing the keeping of It, as in that instance, and also in the instruction He gave His disciples to teach all men to observe His Words before His departure from the Earth among others. Matthew 28:22

It was because He knew that any who keeps His Words was building his "house" on the everlasting Rock, so could never crash whenever the storms came because the house was founded upon that Rock!

Hence that was the same Rock He built His church upon which guaranteed that the gates of hell (the storms) couldn't prevail against it no matter how hard (persecution, deaths) it beat against that church.

That's what saved the apostles from crashing regardless of the untold storms they faced. Jesus said they had kept His Word. John 17:6, 8.

That's what also saved me when the storms came and I needed help.

That's why I have always and will keep recommending the (keeping of) Words of Jesus to anyone who cares to listen, because it saved the day for me when I was so close to quitting the faith, and has proven Itself true and dependable in my life.

This happened several years before I joined this forum in October 2018, so instead of me joining the irreligious here to speak against God, I have been speaking passionately for God.

I have even shown my trust in Him to the extent many wonder what I have been smoking.

I even saw some here usinh me as a reference point of a theist that could never turn atheist. It surprised me because some of them were people that hated my guts, so for them to yet admit such a thing regardless, gave the impression that it had become so glaring.

Another also recently asked me how possible it was for one to be this consistent for so long in what he called, "his delusions"?

What they didn't know though is that I came this close to quitting and could easily be one of their irreligious gang.

Instead God is using me to win souls into His kingdom and for His own glory here and elsewhere.

Thank God for giving us the Word of His kingdom through Jesus His Son, which is able to give us the foundation required to make us overcome any kind of storms the enemy stirs up against us, so we could be able to carry out the purpose God has for our lives.

Nothing enticed me in the faith before!

There us nothing special about believing or not believing, you remain a human being whatever the case. Therefore treat your fellow man with empathy, we all bleed red when cut.

There is no difference in the color of blood, but the difference is clear if one is truly a believer, so it's something special for me to be on this side where true life and freedom is.

Hence it's out of emphathy that I want the likes of you to also partake of this exclusive feeling and reality. If I didn't care about you I even wouldn't bother.

You don't need to persuade me to believe in what you believe before you show me you care. In fact when you show empathy before you start trying to convince me to believe then you really show that you care.

If you don't believe there's a difference, how will you believe it's empathetic to want to you to partake of what I enjoy? I am already showing you I care but you don't realize it.

Because empathy for suffering requires objectively substantial things not promises of a better tomorrow.

That's a part of empathy but that's not all. You should know i also do that, but I do more than that kind of empathy. So I know both are real but you don't realize this.
