Lithium Ore
Nigeria recently discovered large deposits of lithium, an essential component for building batteries for electric cars, laptops and mobile devices.

It has been mentioned over time that Nasarawa State is one of the states with the highest quantity of lithium in the North Central part of Nigeria. There is also lithium in Kwara, Niger, and Kogi, but Nasarawa State has been so lucky to have the largest commercial quantity.

The price of lithium has risen from $6,000 per tonne in 2020 to $78,000 per tonne in 2022, and it is expected to be the most valuable mineral on earth by 2040. Additionally, Nigeria’s lithium is high-grade.

The new Minister of Mines & Steel Development, Alhaji Shuaibu Audu must be encouraged to succeed in that industry.

He needs to ensure the previous arrangement with Tesla CEO, Mr @elonmusk is brought back to the table. Tesla uses batteries for its electric cars and Lithium is the base material used for battery productions.

Elon Musk is a willing partner if the terms are right. The VP must do his best to make PEBEC work more efficiently and effectively for more investors to come in.

I was about saying the same thing. Why not even open the entire mining sector all at once and ensure restructuring so the nation taps into its vast resources and potentials at once. The fear of the freedom of the Niger deltan region and the hatred for the freedom of a section of the country is what binds the country together. Nothing more. Collective hatred

Elon musk coming to Nigeria will be to our advantage... as nothing is stopping ebeto and other Nigerian companies and individuals to raise found trough loans or other means to set up a mining site or a processing plant. I myself has been making enquiries about how much it will cost me to set up a processing plant.

The Government should liase with Dr Okonjo Iweala and send her as emissary to SpaceX Engineering Directorate to present a comprehensive partnership on development of the lithium sites in Nigeria. Even if she ask for payment, the government should oblige.

So I’m asking you, did Ibeto requested for any loan and he was rejected?

If Ibeto is interested, why can’t he seek out for loans?

It's under the purview of Mr Dele Alake.

You will still have to pay those expatrait in dollars! Also running technology companies is not for novice with substandard university education, which most Nigerian graduates are. You need specialised training inorder to run those kind of businesses.

Politicians will not directly benefit from that, they will not be able to secure jobs for their children to earn as expatriates but with Elon they’ll bring their foreign trained children for him to hire and pay them as expatriates

Don't mind our people both the leaders and the so called elites especially the economist among them they always adopt the wrong policies ,just copy and paste, without considering the peculiar situation of the country
What the guy is talking about is FDI but it has not always benefit Nigeria the way it benefits other countries, so your suggestion is the best approach, provided ibeto,is not a wicked monopolist like dangote
Saying your suggestion is right is because of the experience with 9mobile when it was Etisalat, when some investors came with little money to invest and latter used the company to borrow from our banks more than they invested and left, the same banks that will not support local investors
Same with India and Lebanese investors, they use our money to invest in our country
It's time we look inward and develop capacity of our people
That's the only way this country can move forward

Very funny thread. Would you come to Elon's rescue when all the lazy local traditional rulers and jobless youths try to turn the new Factory to their ATM machine? You think it is easy investing in Nigeria? Why do you think the cost of producing anything in Nigeria is far higher than even neighboring African countries?

FDI only works if the investor wants to live and spend in your country.... That's the only way if not it's a no no

You, accusing others of being 'enemies of progress'!? That's a bit rich coming from a known bigot and hateful person such as youself!

One thing i've noticed about your ilk is that you seem to take hatred against Ndigbo as 'normal and expected' of any true 'Nigerian'! It's like viewing Ndigbo as 'slaves' and a 'conquered' people to be ganged up against and held down in Nigeria by the Fulani and Yoruba....it's like this sentiment is embedded in your DNA and hence you see it as normal and expected of any true 'Nigerian'! This should be the starting point for anyone wondering and trying to analyse why you don't want to see ANY Igbo as president of Nigeria, and why you'd rather support a greedy, scheming and bigoted infirm old man with tons of baggage....one from a ethnicity and region that has ALREADY produced president/head-of-state in a country where others are yet to have a go!

To me you're just speaking in thongs. There no lithium in Igboland so why worry about what yorubas and Hausas are doing with there lithium. IS IT YOUR LITHIUM?

No one is building and lithium plant here with the lack of infrastructure, insecurity and economic policies . Why should he leave these safer countries for Nigeria. Thats assuming he is into Lithium production
