there is a small mosque with the biggest and loudest loudspeaker on my street. These inconsiderate and insensitive people will break your early morning sleep from as early as 4:45am with their noise.
This is lagos and not Ilorin.
My question is how have you guys been coping and what is lagos state government doing about this menace.

Go to the mosque, speak with Alpha tell him the speaker is disturbing your sleep and that if they don't remove it within one week, you wil take it down yourself.

You are the rather insensitive one.
And obviously you just moved to yoruba land.
Because the average yoruba grew up with the muezin.
And it takes maybe 10 - 15 mins.

Tolerance. Tolerance Tolerance.

For your info I am Christian.

A yoruba Christian .

Infact in yoruba land, the muezin is like an alarm clock.
Some actually work with the muezin.

See this modern werey what noise could a mosque speaker make compared to that of a church? You better go and find super glues and pour the contents into your ears to block it coz my friend you can't prevent the Muslims from observing their prayers. Rather you should go to your church and educate your pastors to learn that speaking to God doesn't require high pitched senseless noises spoken by meaningless orals and songs, speaking to God requires humbleness and gentle words with total contenance of humility and respects-not immorality and indecensy.

Some Christians too acknowledge it's their reliable alarm especially if they have a schedule to be up early.

Personally the Azan makes me very conscious of time.

It is also one of the best time to wake up and fire prayers. Even witches and wizards don't joke with that time. Instead of you to be sleeping and snoring better wake up and fire your own prayers too.

Warn them to turn it down. If the start crisis as expected, gather boys and kill them. Nigerian muslims feed on weak people. If you show weakness, they will take over your lands.
Masha Allah.

You are right based on they disturbed your sleep, but let do the analysis 2 times 2 minutes call to prayer and the early morning prayer would last for 15 to 30 minutes compare with all night vigil with drums.

There are laws against noise pollution in Lagos State. If the noise is above a certain level, the officials in charge enlighten the offender to comply with the law. I saw that happen to a Church. They complied as directed and the neighbours were thankful.

You could approach them politely to reduce the volume instead of reporting.

Make a report about it to LASEPA. They’ll get them to tone it down.
