Considering the economic situation in the country, a roasted maize seller was spotted dividing a maize into half in order to sell to those who can not afford to buy a full maize, which sells for between 150 and 200 naira depending on the size.

Things are really tough for many.
Seriously, this is terrible.

Corn 150-200 smh. Modernization of agriculture must be prioritized for a nation with over 100M people

Over 100 million people and a very arable land.
Other countries like South korea rely almost completely on their technological, scientific, and human development because they lack natural resources. If Nigeria had that plus a strong agricultural sector, we would be a power to reckon with. Same for Cameroon and the majority of African countries.

Wtf man, the woman should not sell that half corn to the agbadorians, any agbado that doesn't have 150 naira to buy corn should be chase out of her shop.

What is Agbado? Why should she not sell it to Agbadorians in particular?

Ha! As funny as it may look, I pray it's not a foretaste of things to come for Nigeria. We warned you people Since 2014. But Nigeria has taught me in a hard way to mind my business - especially the way my tribesmen rooted for Tinubu in the name of our tribesman.
Let them enjoy their failing economy, my case is different!

What tribe is Tinubu from?

Why is food expensive in Nigeria?

We have good farm lands for farming and rain at the right season.

Can somebody tell me why farming is not prioritized in Nigeria?

These are two relevant and important questions. I do not have the answers but inquiring about the them should provide key insights about African national policy, macroeconomics, and geopolitics.

I've been eating roasted corn since as long as I can remember. In fact, some refer to me as bird because my favourite meal is beans and corn (bird food).

I'm a few decades old and I can tell you sir/ma, in all my years alive and my adventure with roasted corn, I've not seen this before.

I've bought corn for 5 naira, 15 naira, two for 50 naira. But, I've never encountered where anyone divided corn for me. Never. Not in primary school, or even my secondary school days. Even when Nigeria was as hard as hell, we will still get cheap corn to buy whenever rain is falling because they want to sell faster and leave.

This is pathetic. It shows how backwards we've gone. We should be ashamed of the country we've built and are building for our children.

Divide corn? In 2023?

Don't bother trying to explain to them, many don't want to far or have gardens around their houses but they want farm products to be cheaper.
