I'm Excited With Innovation Coming From Saraki Legacy - Says Gov. Abdulrahaman by Kelf2016(m): 8:36am On Aug 25, 2023
Governor of Kwara State , Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrazaq, has openly applauded one of good works he inherited from the government of Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, (CON), his predecessor and political rival from whom he takes over government about five years ago

The Governor, known for his blind criticism of the Saraki's era in the state, made a shocking U-turn yesterday when a team of Engineers from the Kwara State University (KWASU),Malete, , paid him a courtesy visit to unveil a gasoline vehicle which they successfully converted into electric in a bid to create an alternative energy source to fossil fuel .

Kwara state University was established in 2009 under the administration of Bukola Saraki with the goal of providing high-quality education and research for Kwarans and Nigerians. The university had since produced more than ten thousand graduates with more than fifty departments to her credit .

The governor, during the visit, inspected the electric vehicle ,affirmed its perfect working status, and commended University leadership for making Kwara state join the race to the top.

Mallam Abdulrahaman, while showcasing his admiration of the project also praised the timing that it is being invented, noting that such is a clear indication that our country is steadily joining global community to cut down over reliance on fossil fuel and embracing a cleaner source of energy .

Pressing further , the governor praised the team of engineers, led by Mr AbdulAzeez Akande, the Head of Technical Unit, Centre for Sustainable Energy and Chief Technologist at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Kwara state University.

While commending the acting Vice chancellor for leading the team to government house , the governor also directed that some government vehicles be converted to use electricity for onward use by students.

The governor in a post from his verified Facebook page reads in part : "I'm excited to inspect an electric vehicle that a team of engineers in Kwara State had successfully converted from gasoline engine by a team of great engineers from the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete. The vehicle works perfectly with different accessories. "

"This is innovation at its finest, and a clear indication that we are fast turning the corners as our country steadily joins the world to reduce over reliance on fossil fuel and adopt cleaner energy."
