*Urgent!!!*


For the umpteenth time, I will want this message escalated to relevant authority for prompt attention to be given to the 330KVA transmission tower leaning "road ward" just after the military check point at the correctional center Makurdi.

Yesterday's storm has further worsened the tilt and anything can happen at any moment.

For over 3 months now, TCN has not deemed it imperative to correct this structural defect on one of their towers.

Happy to inform the house that repair work commenced on the defective tower the next day after the post was put up.

Want to thank anyone who escalated this subtle post which didn't even make homepage to the relevant authority.

The management of Jos Electricity Distribution said there would be power outage in Makurdi, the Benue capital, on Tuesday to enable them to carry out repair works.

The 33KV electricity tower, which supplies power to Makurdi, was recently vandalised.

This is contained in a statement by JED spokesman Adakole Elijah in Makurdi on Friday.
