Very typical of Yorubas. Their hate for Igbos is very strong. Thank God other tribes are now seeing their inordinate hate for Igbos. Most of
the forum moderators have the same mindset as the average Yoruba person that's why they see nothing wrong in what their people comment in the forum.

It is obvious that you romanticise a military regime most probably because you have not witnessed one. Go and read about someone called Ken Saro Wiwa and come and tell me whether what happened to him can happen in a civilian regime. Here you are on social media able to blast a sitting president and call him names, are you able to try that with the khaki boys? How do you imagine the appointed Military Administrators and their cohorts behaved during military rule, like paupers or like saint? Massive corruptions that is perpetuated in military regime do not come to the surface because who is going to bring them up, who has the gut? Do you know how many sitting governors, legislators have been removed by the court or impeachments, I don’t know which state you come from ,but in most states of Nigeria, the fear of impeachment is the beginning of wisdom for most state governors. Who dares talk about removing a Military Administrator for non-performance. AbdulSalaam did not steal or we ignored it because he restored democracy . It appears you know very little about military regimes ,so I will rest here for now! For all the inadequacies of civilian rule, it is still better than the military, so be careful of what you wish for. And for your information, I was actually sitting down when i wrote this grin

Funsho Williams and many other political assassination went on and are still going on.
Among all the military rulers no steal like Abdulsalam. I wish you know me.
In democracy just imagine how much over 400 national Assemblies members are stealing every month.
The governors in democracy feel like kings and queens. They know nobody will remove them, even the state assemblies are now errand boys for the governor. During the military every governor is afraid so that his appointment cannot be terminated.
Just imagine that the former minister of aviation that borrowed air crafts to decieve us, will he be walking free if it was military regime?
Our naira was stronger during the military rule, most important infrastructures in this country are built by the military.
For 30 years, a country like Nigeria cannot build one refinery? This is an insult to democracy.
That constitution allowance is the worst corrupt act in the world.
Just of a recent, your president used 70 billions to buy infrastructure to national assembly.
While Nigerians are crying of hunger, Akpabio is giving 200 million naira for each senator to go and rest for 2wks.
Calculate that 200 million by the number of national assembly members we have in this country.
Joshua Dariye of plateau state was in prison but he was collecting all his salaries and allowance.
As far as we remain in democracy I can swear to you that no development will your village. In military only one man can steal that much (the president) but in democracy everybody is stealing.
Mr man pls sit down and think of the infrastructure build by the military then compare with what democracy has done.

I don't want to argue with you please tell your democracy to build only one refinery.
Just sit down and start remembering how powerful was Nigeria, how many companies Nigeria use to have.
Mention only one state in this country that the governor is not controlling the assembly members.
If democracy is good as you want us to believe then why can't we achieve more than the military?
What happened to Funsho Williams?

His parents came to the UK from east Africa and are both of Indian origin. Mr Sunak was born in Southampton in 1980, where his father was a GP and his mother ran a pharmacy. The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Mohammed Takuti Usman, on Wednesday asked soldiers to be loyal to President Bola Tinubu and the constituted authority, at all times.

The Pledge of Allegiance should be to the Flag and the Republic, not to a temporary individual.

I agree with you 100%. The president and Governors in this our version of democracy are more like Emperor and Kings. They fear no consequences for any action they take. See Wike that rigged an election openly and brazenly. He was rewarded with the governor of FCT. I really feel sorry for the people of FCT. Wike will rule them like Pharaoh.

Under military regimes only the head of state and very few aids were able to steal. Most of the critical infrastructures in the country today were build by military regimes. Under our socall democracy, stealing is free for all. Even a CBN governor was stealing without any fear or favour.

Military regimes in Nigeria obey court orders netter than the so called democracy. Gani Fawehinmi, Fela, Tai Solarin all survived under military dictatorship. I doubt a Gani Fawehinmi could survive under the current civilian government.
A democracy where a governor is controlling the judiciary, the legislature and the Local governments and elections, is that one Democracy?

You always exaggerate the positives of the military governments. I only smile each time I hear you repeat the falsehood that the military obeyed court orders better. For what its worth, Gani went to Jail a zillion times under the military. Someone like Femi Falana who is still alive and practicing has not been to jail once since 1999. Nor has any civilian government jailed any lawyer or journalist of note over criticism. Something that happened all the time under the military - even to my own father. I doubt you even know what an Ouster Clause is. Clauses in military decrees which oust the jurisdiction of the court. My friend, you need to pipe down on this adoration of military governments. I have told you before that it is natural that critical infrastructure would be built in our earliest days - military or civilian. However it is not true to say that civilian governments have not built equivalent infrastructure all things considered. Also this idea that only the Head of State and a few cohorts were able to steal under the military is so false that I have to wonder if we live in the same country. There isn't a senior military officer of the military era who is not a retired billionaire up till today. If they didn't have billions, they occupy most of the prime real estate in the country up till today.

nigerian's democracy is worst than military regime.
I believe this country should either be colonise or let us go back to military regime. Then later we can prepare our own constitution before bringing democracy back.

I must confess that I am exaggerating the positives of military governments, you too must recognise that you are on the other extreme, which is failing to see whatever positives the military rule and failing to acknowledge the flaws of democracy as currently practiced.

One thing you cannot take away from previous military governments is they are highly patriotic than the current set of politicians. Yes they were autocratic, but they were less tribalistic and less disruptive to national unity. They did not tolerate any threats to the unity and sovereignty of the country - both external and internal. I was in Sokoto for 2 years during the reign of IBB and I had the best time of my life.

Yes no lawyer was jailed by the civilian administrations because most if not all prominent human rights lawyers have become political, and so do not confront or protest against civilian misgovernance. But others who do criticise or are in the bad books of the civilian administrations had been harassed and sometime locked up for long periods without trial. El Mustapha was locked up for 13 years without trial. Many journalists and their media houses have been harrased for being critical of the government. A student was locked up and beaten up by the first lady for writing a critical post on social media. All these were under civilian rule.

Let me also add that the human rights abuses by SARS is not rivalled in any military administration. The only difference is that it affected only the poor and powerless, while most human rights abuses by the military was felt by the elite.

I still stand by my assertion that very few military administrators and generals stole during civilian regimes. I know a few of them. Name one former civilian administrator that became a billionaire on leaving office. I am sure I know the general you are referring to personally, and i can tell you he never stole while in government. He became a billionaire more than 18 years after leaving the army and government.

Which senior military officer is a billionaire? Is it Marwa, Rasaki, olurin, Bode George, or Diya. Even Aikhomu could not be said to be a billionaire before he died.

I would still like to add more fact about stealing in military administration. The only military head of state that stole directly was Abacha. IBB did not steal directly, so nothing can be traced to him. He stole using fronts. He had numerous fronts. Adenuga is one of them. I had an uncle that use to front for IBB in the oil business. In fact IBB had more than 12 fronts. Civilian administrations on the other hand steal directly. They obtain bribes in plain sight and give themselves stupendous pecks and allowances without any fear of repacussions.

All we can do is acknowledge that Nigerian Governments have all been corrupt, civilian and military, and stop trying to exalt the military over the civilian.

One thing you cannot take away from previous military governments is they are highly patriotic than the current set of politicians. They did not tolerate any threats to the unity and sovereignty of the country - both external and internal. I was in Sokoto for 2 years during the reign of IBB and I had the best time of my life.

I guess less tribalistic is why almost all the military Heads of State were northerners, and why Northerners dominated the army from the sixties.

Yes no lawyer was jailed by the civilian administrations because most if not all prominent human rights lawyers have become political, and so do not confront or protest against civilian misgovernance. A student was locked up and beaten up by the first lady for writing a critical post on social media. All these were under civilian rule.

All this is child's play compared to what went down under the military. I dont need to cite instances, I am sure you know.

Let me also add that the human rights abuses by SARS is not rivalled in any military administration. The only difference is that it affected only the poor and powerless, while most human rights abuses by the military was felt by the elite.

Like the June 12 riots right? Please sir.

How funny you choose to list these mostly southern powerless officers when everyone knows that power and privilege in the military rested mostly with the Northern corp of officers.
